I have been watching Late Night with Jimmy Fallon lately and I did in the beginning, he is just not funny. What so ever.

I have probably seen about 15 episodes now and I don't remember laughing once.

I liked Fever Pitch but it was a movie and I don't believe I actually laughed too much.

I love Weekend Update with Jimmy and Tina Fey but it was only because I love Tina Fey, I think she's so funny. But Jimmy Fallon...NOT FUNNY.

Am I alone on this?

He is not that great of a solo comedian. He is much better when paired with someone stronger which does draw him out and stretch his comic zone so to speak.

The monologues are terrible so that is why they are very short. I think the best part of the show is the music group. They are wonderful-- I may just be partial though.

I have to agree with you, I wish they would have hired Joel Mchale. He is much funnier than Jimmy Fallon.

I never put that together but he was usually really funny on SNL with strong funny person.

Maybe they can make it Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Rachel Dratch or something.

Aw, I like Jimmy Fallon. That being said, his standup on Late Night is often rather lame. I am hoping it is just b/c he is so new at it. There are parts that are funny, but then he does something utterly stupid like "Wheel of Carpet Samples" and no, I did not make that up. I do like when he slow jams the news.

Oh man, I watch Jimmy almost nightly and he is NOT funny. I have wondered what the ratings are showing for his show. I loved Jimmy on SNL and in Fever Pitch but this late night show is just not working. He was pretty funny the other night with SIG from Deadliest Catch!!! ITA his monologues are sad. :sad2:

Sorry, Jimmy...but............

I watched a few episodes right at the beginning when he took over and the funniest I had seen was when Conan was trying to clean out his stuff when Jimmy was already in there.

I gave up after 3 episodes.

I totally agree with you about how unfunny he is. My BF and I were talking the other day about the lack of talent this guy has and how did he get his own late night show.

I really wanted his show to be a success. He seems like a genuinely nice guy. I liked him on SNL, and I think he's really great at impersonations. It seems to me that he just hasn't found his niche on this show. He should almost get rid of the monologue altogether and do something else.

He's not funny and he looks nervous. I've tried to watch a few times and I just don't get how he could last very long.

I didn't like Conan at first either, it might just take him some time. I'll probably check back in more next year...it often takes shows the first season to really hit their stride.

I love Jimmy Fallon! Wish I had seen the wheel of carpet samples! I haven't seen all the episodes, but the shows are just fun! He's got the guests to do some fun things too! I definitely don't think Jimmy is nervous, I just think funny/awkward is his style.

His show sure beats Letterman. I remember my Mom and I staying up late one night to make cookies and tuning in since he had Harrison Ford on, David actually resorted to just poking Harrison and going muahahaha :confused3 Don't understand why people tune in to see unprepared interviews, mean jokes and a beyond stale top ten.:confused3

ITA, he isn't funny. However, I will watch his show if I like the guest. I watched the Beastie Boys earlier this week. I can't believe those guys are like 45 now.

I think Jimmy Fallon & Conan O'Brien are both lame. neither are very funny. I hate how the producers think they have to dumb things down after 11:30. Craig Ferguson used to be more witty & funny, but you can tell, he's specifically going for the pot smoking crowd, which is all they think are up at that hour.

No, we geniuses are up at that hour, too. We are so smart, we have designed our lives so that we can be up while the rest of the world is sleeping. :thumbsup2 Geniuses like Thomas Edison & Einstein actually get along on only 5 hours of sleep. George Clooney says he only sleeps a few hours every nite. (I'm trying to research that one, personally. ;) :rolleyes1 )

I agree. Come Monday, late night on NBC is going to be abysmal between the two. Conan is far too sophmoric to do a good job with Late Night and Fallon is almost painful to watch (and I loved him on SNL).

Come fall, I will be DVR'ng Leno's show and just watching it in place of Late Night with Conan O'Brian.

I will be looking forward to your report on that field study of George Clooney.

Gee golly! The guy who couldn't mke it through a single sketch on SNL without continually reading the teleprompters, giggling through his own sketches, or simply not look at the camera when put in a sketch can't carry his own Late Night Talk Show?

Color me shocked!

They need to get Justin Timberlake on there and turn it into the Barry Gibb Talk Show. Now THAT was funny!
