No doubt followed by Hugo Chavez. Good old Hugo is getting hugs from Cindy Sheehan as we speak.

JoeEpcotRocks said:President Bush has far more consideration for the world than you ever give him credit. I've had the Iraq debate so many times with you, and I still disagree entirely with you opinions. The Iraqi's have thanked us. Our country and its allies are fighting for the oppressed and against terrorism. Praise God.
One opinion does not encompass them all, Joe. I'm sure that some MUST be thankful (Saddam was not a nice man) but I'm just as equally sure that there are many who positively loathe the war. The Lib Dem party in Britain, historically the third party, received a swell of support from Muslims opposed to the war, for instance. There are many on record telling us that they are off to join Al Queda.JoeEpcotRocks said:Not after it's been given to a murdering terrorist named Arafat. And they gave it to Carter partially as a slam against President Bush.
It's damaged goods now.

Your army is killing people, period. They in turn are killing your people. How do you reconcile this with the Holy Commandment "Thou Shalt Not Kill"? You know, that instruction that God gave to us with no subtext? I'm sure that the old testament has periods describing eye-for-an-eye and slavery as common practice, but how do you reconcile THOSE with the Commandment? Let alone that, the message of Jesus - to pray for our enemies and to turn the other cheek like men?

By the time Clinton took office, Carter was becoming "vocal". Clinton hired a few Carter retreads in an attempt to appease him and he gave him little "diplomatic jobs" to include him. However, after a couple of years, Clinton got tired of his meddling. Good points about the boat lift. We paid for that for years.AMcaptured said:I can't believe no one has mentioned the Muriel boat lift of 1978. It was possibly the biggest disaster of Jimmy Carter's presidency IMO (Tehran was pretty bad and half the reason we are dealing with Iraq today but Muriel is up there on the list of failures and the Carter administration) . He actually allowed tens of thousands of cuban criminals into this country. Bill Clinton unfortunately got many of these thugs and it is believed to contribute to Bill Clinton losing his re election bid as Gov of Arkansas. Clinton has NEVER like Jimmy Carter because of it and has a very cold relationship with him.

-releasing control of the Panama Canal. Before anyone goes into history, save the typing, I already know it. I still believe it was a stupid thing to do. We never should have given it up.Yup, we agree. I mentioned it in one of my earliest posts. It was a stupid thing to do and I think we will eventually pay a much larger price. The Chinese government own structures at either end of the canal. Easy enough to blow up and impede shipping....if and when they decide it might be a "good idea".lyeag said:I am not a very big fan of Carter for many reasons, but I haven't seen any mention of one of my personal favorites-releasing control of the Panama Canal. As for this quote, if you really knew anything about the Bible, you'd know that the original Hebrew test said, "Murder" not kill. There is a HUGE difference and it's how I can reconcile it.
Tanuki said:If China wanted to impede shipping they could just stop loading boatloads of stuff at their own ports to ship all around the world. It is totally laughable to imagine them blowing up the Panama Canal.

I agree. Following this "logic", I'm wondering who is supposed to decide which is murder and which is killing. The "nice" members of the Right who inhabit this board? Bush?Puffy2 said:If it wasn't so sad, it would be laughable - the way that some "Christians" try to rationalize their evil and greed.

I also hate to see the slams against the Nobel Peace Price. I kind of suspect that that group has a better handle on who deserves it than a handful of people who post on a Disney Board.

Just over 110 post on this thread-30 of them are by you. Only one of them was in response to me. It wasn't me babe makin' those 30 posts; this thread has EVERYTHING to do with you. You are all over it.DawnCt1 said:Actually, this thread has absolutely nothing to do with me. It was you who chose to make it about me.
I can see neither of you know much about the Bible. For you to even try to rationalize that you understand it with comments such as these, shows how ignorant and evil you are (that comment was aimed at Puffy not you Planogirl, as he/she has no problems with personal attacks). Maybe before you quote me and tell me how wrong I am, perhaps you should study up before doing so next time. That way you can at least prove what I said is false rather than just hurl insults.
As for discerning who murders and who kills. Well, God will have the ultimate say in the end, but I think according to man's law we can all decipher the difference between kill and murder.
And btw, the GREED came from the UN. You must have missed that memo. There is nothing greedy about wanting everyone on Earth to enjoy the same freedoms as you do. That is what you're trying to suppress! Do I like the killing? Hell no! You tell me what people got their freedom WITHOUT the killing though? Then go back in history and rationalize all those who died so that you can be free today. I guess that wasn't worth it, huh? What, did you think it was just handed to you without blood having been shed? No biggie now though, you got yours!
