During our last visit to WDW, last August, we noticed lots of activity just inside the MK. A CM told me that Jim Brickman would be filming a PBS special later in the week! Being a fan of his, that was exciting news!
As my dd and I walked in front of Tony's Town Square, Wayne Brady passed by and entered the taping area. Then we walked over by the Emporium and saw Jim B. seated at the piano. Soon Michael Bolton appeared and rehearsal began. Several female vocalists participated, too, but I can't name them as I wasn't familiar with them.
We noticed people were watching the whole thing from the platform at the RR Station, so we headed over to see if we could possibly watch from that vantage point. I was sure the steps leading up to the platform would be roped off, but we were delighted to discover I was wrong. We watched the rest of rehearsal and part of the taping from the platform, with the castle in the background. It was awesome!
As Michael Bolton sang, we were amused to hear two young (20 something) girls comment that he was HOT! He did look mighty fine and sounded great, too.
Wayne Brady...we love Wayne Brady...sang a gorgeous ballad called Beautiful.
Jim played beautifully, as usual. Some of the pieces performed are on Jim's new CD, The Disney Songbook. It's a great CD!!! Neat arrangements of some of the best-loved Disney tunes, like A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes, Mary Poppins medley, Baby Mine, Reflection, Can You Feel The Love Tonight?. We love it!!!
Before we knew it, the clock struck midnight, and we needed to run before our Disney bus turned into a pumpkin
We were told the program would be aired in Nov., as a part of the PBS telethon. So please look for it... you won't be disappointed!!!! Deb
