Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Thanks everyone! I've read so many great reviews on these boards, writing my own was more than a little intimidating! I'm back in the room soaking up more AC...Living in Colorado has totally zapped my ability to deal with humidity! I'll have the next update shortly.

Sunday May 8

My plan was to hit MK and eat at the Mainstreet Bakery. Unfortunately, I got caught up in the triathalon traffice and it took almost an hour to get from OKW to MK. When I got to the Mainstreet Bakery, the line was out the door. I decided to go ride some rides and work my way around to Fantasyland to check out the new Potato Chips I remembered from the Disney Food Blog.

No potato chips to be found so I stopped off at CHH.

Columbia Harbor House

I ordered the Anchors Away tuna sandwich minus the tomato. It was really good. It is served on multi grain bread which feels really healthy. :rotfl: I topped off my healthy lunch with an apple crisp. It wasn't too bad....nothing crispy about it though....I ate half the pastry and scraped out the rest of the apple pie filling.

Rode HM and then found a 25 minute wait on Pirates. I knew I had to leave as the park was getting crazy. I couldn't leave without.....

Dole Whip

I love the vanilla/pineapple swirl as the vanilla cuts the sweetness of the pineapple.

After a break in the room, I headed to Epcot for dinner. I had a pre-dinner cocktail in France....

The Grey Goose Citron Slushie

Oh, my goodness. This was what lemonade should taste like! It was light and refreshing and oh so tasty. Perfect for the heat!

Time for my dinner 7:15 ADR at

Bistro de Paris

I had debated this one but finally decided to try it out after reading some good reviews lately. I'm not sorry I did. I had a short wait downstairs and then was led upstairs by a very handsome Frenchman in a tuxedo. I was seated at a table the second row from the windows. I was greeted by Charly, yet another handsome young French waiter in a tuxedo. Oh la la! Viva la France!

A young lady brought some French bread baguettes around. These were still oven fresh...so good!

After perusing the menu I decided to go with the prix fixe menu and the wine pairings. For starters, I had the butternut squash soup with a cheese puff gourgeres. It was delicious. It was rich but not overly so and the cheese puff was so good. I could have eaten a whole basket of those. This course was paired with a Chardonney. Not too oaky...very nice and crisp.

I chose the beef tenderloin for my entree paired with a Bordeaux--dry but paired very well with the beef. (credit to Allears for the description)

Grilled Beef Tenderloin - beef Parmentier, asparagus, peppercorn sauce

This was very good. The filet was cooked perfectly medium and the beef Parmentier is mashed potatoes with pot roast inside. Delicious!

I befriended the ladies at the table next to me and when they saw me taking pictures of my food, they offered to take pics of their entrees. I'll include them for you here. :)

Sea Bass

Rack of Lamb (this was carved tableside...very cool presentation!)

Next was dessert. I was torn between the chocolate cake and the creme brulee. I went with the Warm Chocolate and Almond Cake - crispy feuilletine and white chocolate mousse, praline sauce.

This took a bit to make but was well worth it. The cake was a molten chocolate cake. The sauce was like liquid hazelnut....so good! This was paired with a glass of Champagne!

This was a fantastic meal and I will be back. The service was impeccable by a very friendly and professional waiter. I have to try that souffle next time!

$107.64 with 20% gratutity. My TIW card was blacked out due to Mother's Day. :(

Glad you enjoyed Bistro. DW and I visited for the 1st time last year and it immediately became one of our favorite restaurants. I too had the three course Prix Fixe menu. My choices were jumbo sauteed shrimp for appetizer, sea bass for the entree and creme brulee for dessert. DW ordered smoked salmon for appetizer, rack of lamb for her entree and crepes duo for dessert. The show our waiter Thibaud put on to carve the lamb and flambe the crepes was worth the trip all in itself.

Enjoying your TR. Can't wait to read your review for V&A!

Bistro is one of our all-time favorites ... great food and service. I'm so glad you enjoyed your dinner there but I'm sad to read that the tasting menu has dropped to three courses. When we first tried it way back in 2007 it was five courses with an amuse to start. YUM!

I know it wasn't your meal, but the rack of lamb looked mouthwatering! Your dessert was beautiful. How was the champagne? I can't hardly read down this thread without my mouth watering! Even your container of hummus made me hungry!:rotfl:

Jill, Bistor looks amazing! So glad to hear you are having a great time.

There was an amuse to start but I gobbled it down and forgot to photograph it. :rotfl: It was some sort of fish spread on a crostini. It tasted better than I described it!

As long as your mouth was happy that's all that matters.

Your dinner looks fantastic! Maybe I should reconsider dining in France! ;) :thumbsup2

That Dole Whip looks awesome! Could happily have one right now!

Am glad you enjoyed your experience at Bistro de Paris :)
