Sunday May 8
My plan was to hit MK and eat at the Mainstreet Bakery. Unfortunately, I got caught up in the triathalon traffice and it took almost an hour to get from OKW to MK. When I got to the Mainstreet Bakery, the line was out the door. I decided to go ride some rides and work my way around to Fantasyland to check out the new Potato Chips I remembered from the Disney Food Blog.
No potato chips to be found so I stopped off at CHH.
Columbia Harbor House
I ordered the Anchors Away tuna sandwich minus the tomato. It was really good. It is served on multi grain bread which feels really healthy.

I topped off my healthy lunch with an apple crisp. It wasn't too bad....nothing crispy about it though....I ate half the pastry and scraped out the rest of the apple pie filling.

Rode HM and then found a 25 minute wait on Pirates. I knew I had to leave as the park was getting crazy. I couldn't leave without.....
Dole Whip
I love the vanilla/pineapple swirl as the vanilla cuts the sweetness of the pineapple.

After a break in the room, I headed to Epcot for dinner. I had a pre-dinner cocktail in France....
The Grey Goose Citron Slushie
Oh, my goodness. This was what lemonade should taste like! It was light and refreshing and oh so tasty. Perfect for the heat!

Time for my dinner 7:15 ADR at
Bistro de Paris
I had debated this one but finally decided to try it out after reading some good reviews lately. I'm not sorry I did. I had a short wait downstairs and then was led upstairs by a very handsome Frenchman in a tuxedo. I was seated at a table the second row from the windows. I was greeted by Charly, yet another handsome young French waiter in a tuxedo. Oh la la! Viva la France!
A young lady brought some French bread baguettes around. These were still oven fresh...so good!
After perusing the menu I decided to go with the prix fixe menu and the wine pairings. For starters, I had the butternut squash soup with a cheese puff gourgeres. It was delicious. It was rich but not overly so and the cheese puff was so good. I could have eaten a whole basket of those. This course was paired with a Chardonney. Not too oaky...very nice and crisp.
I chose the beef tenderloin for my entree paired with a Bordeaux--dry but paired very well with the beef. (credit to Allears for the description)
Grilled Beef Tenderloin - beef Parmentier, asparagus, peppercorn sauce
This was very good. The filet was cooked perfectly medium and the beef Parmentier is mashed potatoes with pot roast inside. Delicious!
I befriended the ladies at the table next to me and when they saw me taking pictures of my food, they offered to take pics of their entrees. I'll include them for you here.
Sea Bass
Rack of Lamb (this was carved tableside...very cool presentation!)
Next was dessert. I was torn between the chocolate cake and the creme brulee. I went with the Warm Chocolate and Almond Cake - crispy feuilletine and white chocolate mousse, praline sauce.
This took a bit to make but was well worth it. The cake was a molten chocolate cake. The sauce was like liquid hazelnut....so good! This was paired with a glass of Champagne!
This was a fantastic meal and I will be back. The service was impeccable by a very friendly and professional waiter. I have to try that souffle next time!
$107.64 with 20% gratutity. My TIW card was blacked out due to Mother's Day.
