Jiko vs Boma (dinner)

The only things to compare are the flavours and quality.

Boma is a buffet with great food and has yet to let me down. Boma is also very busy with lots of kids and noise. It's a great option for a family dinner because there is so much to try that everyone will be happy.

Jiko is amazing if your a foodie. Great quality paired with amazing flavours, it's very rare to get these two in a restaurant at WDW. Jiko has a great wine selection with very helpful servers to steer you in the right direction. There tends to be more adults(couples) then families but I've seen young children in Jiko.

I would go with Jiko if I could only choose one, but if it was me, I'd try to fit both in.

Seriously different places to eat. You really can't compare the two directly. Since the answer would depend on what's important to you, I'd suggest going to the Dining section here on the DIS and reading about each of them. Try this link: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining.htm

I can't compare both as we only ate at Jiko (we're intending on doing Boma in November). Jiko was lovely, great atmosphere, friendly; helpful servers and the food was REALLY delicious.

We ate at both this Summer.

Boma is a buffet meal with lots of different things to try (and options to suit the more picky eaters!). The atmosphere is busy and it was quite noisy when we went (not so much we were annoyed by it though). It's a great buffet.

Jiko is in a more formal setting than Boma and is table service. They serve really good quality, interesting meals where you can almost guarantee you'll like the 'something new' you've tried. We absolutely loved Jiko and, if it's a choice between the two, would pick Jiko every single time.

I'm basically in agreement with all the other people who have replied. Both are two totally different experiences -Boma is a buffet, Jiko is fine dining. Jiko will probably cost (per adult) about twice what Boma will (assuming you get an entree, a dessert and/or appetizer and drinks). I've been to both - thoroughly enjoyed both.

Boma is always crowded - lots of kids, tends to be noisy (though no more noisy than any other buffet style restaurants at WDW). Jiko is more of a relaxed atmosphere, quiet, more adults. Food is excellent at both.

Boma has great food and unique flavors.
Jiko is a dining experience.

Like everyone has said, there is no comparison. They are two of the best restaurants on disney property.

Boma, buffet, it will probably take you about an hour to eat there.

Jiko, upscale, New African cuisine.

Food is excellent at both. I would do both, and we have done both in the same weekend, Boma for breakfast and dinner, Jiko for dinner and room service in that mix. It was fantastic and we never felt like we had the same meal twice.
