Jiko v. Boma - am I being illogical?

We almost booked a stay at AKL, but decided on GF because it was a better deal, financially, and looked better to my SO (and reminds me of Hotel Del, which I love).

However, we would like to do one meal at AKL so I can at least see the resort and the animals there, the layout, etc.

So, I booked a breakfast at Boma for our last morning in town. I get the feeling that Boma isn't as good as Jiko, but since Jiko would be a dinner, the chance of seeing animals awake would be slim to none, right?

Am I making a mistake?

Actually, if seeing animals is what you want to do at the AKL, I have a bit of a suggestion. Go to Sanaa, which is right down the road at the Animal Kingdom Kidani Village. You can get a seat in that restaurant where you can see the animals outside.
But as far as Boma in the morning goes, I would definitely suggest the earlier you go the better your chances of seeing awake and lively animals. It's why we would always do the safari at the park really early. My guess would be that the dinner at Jiko would probably be amazing (I've heard so many good things about it, we're trying it for our next trip) but I kind of doubt your chances of the seeing the animals would be very high.
I could be completely off base, though. Whenever we went to AKL we never saw any of the animals, but we never really looked very hard either.

Thanks for the suggestion. Sanaa isn't open for breakfast, though.

True, though you can still see animals! :goodvibes You might be able to get in for lunch when they're sitll up and about? Just an idea. If you can't do lunch...hmm. Jiko would probably be the better meal, but Boma is really good as well. If seeing animals what you really, really want to do, then go for the Boma breakfast!

I can help you out here.
We went this past september, and had dinner at Jiko.

It was dark. We used the night vision goggles, and honestly, all that we saw were a few giraffes, and one Wildabeast (or something of that nature :lmao:).

I would stick with breakfast...

We also had Lunch at Sanaa over at Kidani village around noon, and there were a lot more animals roaming freely.

But I'm sure there would be even more early morning. :thumbsup2

The night vison goggles were kind of cool though, for what it's worth. We were looking at planes in the sky. :woohoo:
