We'll be in WDW for 2 weeks and wanted to do 2 signature restaurants. The 1st week will be Yachtsman (my husband's bday and his favorite restaurant). The 2nd week we're not sure if we want Narcossee or Jiko. We really like Boma and will be there at least once but we've never tried Jiko (or Narcossee either). Any opinions?

We love Narcoossee's! Narcoossee's and Flying Fish Cafe are our two favorite signature restaurants. We also like Yachtsman too! Anyway, Jiko was just ok for us. I know it does get a lot of great reviews, but we really just thought it was so so. I did love the atmosphere though. Anyway, we have been going to Narcoossee's for years and have always had a wonderful meal there. I love the location and the service has always been great. We do usually order the whole maine lobster for our entrees.

Narcoossee's for sure! We LOVE Yacthsman as well. We went to Jiko's once and thought it was ok but not anything we have to do. We have to do Narcoossee's EVERY trip. :thumbsup2

I've never eaten at Narcoossee, but Jiko is probably the best meal I've ever had on Disney property.

We have eaten at Jiko and Narcoossee's and love both, my husband would say go for Jiko but I would say go for Narcoossee's...both are good so I woud look at the menu and see what you would order.

Well, Narcoossee's is my 3rd favorite signature, but Jiko is 1st. (Flying Fish is 2nd.)

My DH says that if you really, really love seafood, or if you are really, really not adventurous eaters, go to Narcoossee's, but for most people, Jiko is better. (Personally, I would say if you really really love seafood, skip both and go to Flying Fish.)

If DS9 is joining you definitely make it Narcoossee's. We were at Jiko Friday evening and loved it, but we've also been to Narcoossee's a couple of times and I think it is more suitable for families (been for an adult meal and a family meal there). Also the almond crusted cheesecake at Narcoossee's is literally to die for and I don't even like cheesecake! :rotfl:

I've been to both twice. At Jiko, both times the meals & service were spectacular. Of course, the ambiance is incredible as well.

My first meal at Narcoossees was fantastic - everything was perfect except for the dessert. The atmosphere was wonderful, we saw Wishes from the deck, then saw the EWP - it was a lovely evening. I was really looking forward to going back. When we went back last year, it wasn't such a good experience. They tried to sit us near the kitchen door, but did move us upon request. Our server wasn't that good, not personable & rushed us. First course was good, our main course (steamed lobster) was awful, dessert was ok. They pumped us in & out in no time. We like a nice relaxed, leisurely meal at night. It was one of our most expensive meals of our trip & it was the worst.

Based on that, I would do Jiko again, but probably will not risk Narcoossees again. It's an expensive gamble IMHO.

I like both, but Jiko is my favorite Signature.
It is a beautiful restaurant, it is quiet, the service is excellent, the wine list is great and the food is outstanding.
Good Luck

I would definitely recommend Narcoossee's. It is one of our favorite restaurants on property and always make sure we get there for dinner at least once during our trips.

I like both Jiko and Narcoossee's. But with that Narcoossee's is my favorite; I love the menu, and I love the view at this restaurant. If Jiko was not so far out I think I would like it more. It's just everytime I have to head out to AKL I have to take a taxi to get there otherwise it just takes so long on Disney transportation.

The short rib at Jiko is quite possibly the best single dish I've eaten on WDW property. I still have dreams about it. ;)

It all depends...Is it just you and your spouse? If so, definitely Jiko. IMHO the best restaurant on Disney property next to V&A (though Cal Grill and Flying Fish are both very good as well)
Your whole family? Narcossee might be a better option. The Jiko dining room is more "adult" than Narcossee...

However, it also depends what you want to do that evening...if going back to MK for fireworks/parades is top of your list, go with Narcossee. If relaxing, going out to the fire pit, and watching the animals (assuming there is still some daylight left) might be of interest, go with Jiko....How is that for straddling both sides of the fence:rotfl2:

All right...Jiko...go with Jiko!

we were pretty dissapointed with Narcossee last trip. loved Jiko but havent been in quite a while

Thank you all for your replies. Yes, my son will be joining us - even though he's only 9 he's a "mature 9", loves "good" food and can eat with the best of them.:confused3
It seems that both restaurants have their followers. But if I was keeping track correctly, I think Jiko won by just a hair. I guess I'm going to have to try both!:rolleyes1

try the donut hole things with homemade coffee ice cream at Jiko for dessert. It was the best ice cream I have ever had!!!! To die for!

WOW - I haven't eaten at either...so was VERY interested to read the responses...and I don't think I've ever seen 2 restaurants so "neck and neck"....

Hmm... Might have to try these out next visit ! Thanks OP !!!

Mary

we love it. Both are good, but I would do Jiko over Narcoosee any day. If the gator tail spread comes back ,then I may have to change my mind.
