Jiko or Boma

We will plan to visit the AKL during our December trip and I would like to have a meal while we are there. Which would be a better choice?? Jiko or Boma?? I like to try new foods, but my DH is funny about trying new foods! Thanks!!!

But if you don't search, the short answer is:

Boma is an extensive and interesting buffet.

Jiko is an upscale, expensive restaurant.

Both are well liked (I didn't like either, but ordered wrong at Jiko and my expectations for Boma were too high).

Both are fantastic, so choose based on the experience you are looking for.

Boma, a very wonderful buffet. You can get an african wine or beer with dinner. Plan on a good hour to enjoy all there is.

Jiko, upscale, sitdown restaurant. Fantastic food/service. Plan on a good 2 plus hours for dinner.

Either way, you can't go wrong.

I agree with "Jiko". I've eaten at both, and I'd say that if you don't mind 2 TS credits vs 1 (for people on the DP), Jiko is the better choice. But they're both good.

We like BOMA - but then buffet style suits are family well, lots of choice.
we are goign to also Dine at JIKO this trip, but just me and DH no children, so prehaps we will enjoy it more I hope.

depends on what you are looking for...do you want a buffet style meal where you have to retreive your food or a bit of a fine dining expereince?

(we've only been to Boma, although we are trying out Jiko in May - Boma was really good!)

We always resisted Boma because we don't really care for the buffet-type places. However on our last trip in Dec06 we gave it a try and we were very surprised at how wonderful it was. We enjoyed it so much that it will be a part of our trip in Dec 07. Give it a try!

Boma. I didn't think Jiko was worth 2 TS.

We didn't go to Jiko but I can tell you that Boma is great. There is such a wide variety of food there that anyone is going to find something they like. There were so many things that I normally would turn my nose up at but I promised myself I would try a little bit of everything. All I can say is that I love love love the bobotie!!!! YUMMMMMMMM!

Jiko along with California Grill is our favorite table service restaurant at WDW. We always have great meals there. On our last visit I had the Lamb Shank and it was fantastic. YUM YUM.....

We also really enjoy Boma, it is our favorite buffet on property.

you may be better off at Boma...more choices instead of limited to a menu...

Both are GREAT!! Boma will satisfy everyone, I think.
