Has this ever happened to anyone else before? We leave for WDW on Saturday and have a reservation on Sunday for Jiko. They called today to confirm the reservation (but none of the other ADRs have called to confirm). Is this new?:confused3

On our trip in January, Brown Derby called me to confirm my reservation as well. Maybe they are trying to see if people are keeping their ADR's?

Yes Jiko called me before my last trip to confirm. They were the only restaurant that did though.

Our last trip was 2 weeks worth of ADRs, and Jiko was the only restaurant to call and confirm with us as well. Maybe because it is considered finer dining?? If finer is even a word....:rotfl:

We had ADR's at a number of signature restaurants. The only one that called to confirm was Jiko. Keep in mind that each of these places have their own managers. Many come from outside Disney. They do things, in some cases, the way they see fit.

We just ate at Jiko on Tuesday. No one called us to confirm our ADR.

We didn't get a call to confirm, however, last week the day after we ate at the Yachtsman Stakhouse, they called to make sure we enjoyed every aspect of our meal! Thought that was a nice added touch:goodvibes

The Wave called to confirm our ADR about 2 hours before the ADR.

Jiko also called us to confirm. We were at FF the night before and they did not call.

Jiko called my DH a couple days ago to confirm. That's the only confirmation call we've received also. It seems Jiko has been calling for awhile now. If I remember correctly, there were reports about it last year too.

I wonder if this is a way of managing "no shows." The number of ADRs is obviously up, and as many of us can attest, it's increaingly hard to get ADRs for many of our favorite places. I can imagine that Disney has a challenge in managing folks who lock in a time and then don't show. I'm completely in favor of Disney taking steps to confirm reservations. Maybe it will free up times and help those of us who need a reservation closer to the date of arrival!!
