Just made a reservation at Jiko for our party of 6 adults in May. I got a notice with the online reservation that we may be seated at separate tables. I expected this was possible with a table of 8 or more, but for a table of 6 this seems odd.

Based on your experience, do you think this is just Disney covering all bases in case they have to split the party, or is it common for parties of 6 to be split at Jiko? If we get split it will be a bit of a pain because this is a family reunion trip and we will be a party of 3 couples - so we'd basically have to split into a 4 top and a 2 top and it would not be the same experience.

I have worked a few years in big corporate restaurants, so I understand the theory of covering all possible problems in advance to avoid guest complaints, but I'm just wondering if anyone has ever actually had their party of 6 split up at Jiko with an ADR (with walk ups its more understandable). I made the reservation for a late time (8:45pm), so in theory the restaurant should be starting to clear out since it will be near the end of dinner service.

Also, any tips on notes I can make on the reservation to try to get the party seated together?

I have been given the warning (as a party of 6), and not once were we ever separated. Jiko was of the best meals of the trip.
