Which one should I choose? I want to go to AKL to eat some night and I can't decide which one to eat at. I prefer the quiet atmosphere at Jikos, but if I choose Boma's, I could have another TS credit that I'm thinking of using for the (then) newly opened Tusker House character breakfast. I just can't decide-should I use 2 TS for Jikos or just 1 for Bomas, then I have another credit left? I've eaten at both and enjoyed both places. Jikos is a nicer atmosphere, but gee, having that extra TS credit appeals to me, too. Any advice?

Jiko is sooooo good and Boma's is good but a buffet. Pay for Tusker house OOP and use your credits at Jiko.

(This coming from someone who travels with kids and has never done a 2 credit restaurant, so take that into consideration.)

I'd use the credits for Boma and Tusker House. I've heard wonderful things about Jiko, and don't doubt that it's fantastic, but what I love about Boma is the huge variety of things you can try. I couldn't eat a steak (even a very, very good steak) knowing that there are 6 different soups and prime rib and salmon and fufu and kool slaw (sp?) and pap and bobotie and potatoes with afritude and zebra domes and all the other yumminess that is Boma right across the hall.

Then, for no extra cost, you have a new, fun character breakfast. For me, it would be no contest.

We ate at Boma and loved that we could try a bit of everything. We also lucked out and got a table in the back corner - as far from the entrance as possible. While it was also away from the food, it made the table itself quiet and peaceful.

We did see a LOT of non-adventurous eaters there angry and having a limited selection of "normal" food. We, on the other hand, ate too much because we wanted to try it all.

We haven't tried Jiko yet (next trip). However, we loved Boma. The food was so good. We especially fell in love with the soups. The dessert was fabulous. The zebra domes are outstanding and they had some sort of tropical fruit salad with a cream sauce that was to-die-for. So, I would recommend Boma.

I had the same dilemma but am no help at all since my solution was to book both--Boma after our AK day and Jiko on another night. :confused3

The food at Jiko was great! I loved it. However, I would choose two meals at BOMA over 1 meal at Jiko. (I can't imagine a trip to wdw that didn't involve eating at BOMA.)

Now, Tusker house, I haven't eaten at so I can't speak to that split. But, if you've never tried either of them, I'd probably start with BOMA.

We're doing exactly the same thing -- Boma after our AK day and Jiko another night. :)

We plan to do the DDP and also plan to use 2TS credits and eat at the nicer places or shows ....question is WHICH ONE(s) ????yikes I can't decide ....if you had to pick 2....( leave out Jiko ...been there done that it was very good) p.s. no kids !

I've never been to Boma or Jikos, but I've heard great things about both. This time we are going to try Boma and we also wanted to try one of the signature dinings. We decided to go with Narcoossees. The menu looks great and I've heard good reviews too.

I'm still not sure which I'm going to do, if either. But I'm definitely going to book that character breakfast at Tusker House.

A quick way to decide is to look at the menus and pick what you would probably eat. Compare the costs, If Boma + Tusker house is a better value for you, go for it. I have not seen the price for the Tusker house breakfast, so that is an unknown at this time. But, looking at Jiko's prices, I'd probably pay for it OOP.

We went on the premium dining plan so we did not have to count 2 vs 1 credit. We ate at Boma at around 6:00 pm. The buffet is a cultural experience of food, but the line was very long. Long buffet lines and lots of hungry people makes for an interesting dinner with a 2 and 7 years old. Also, there is a lot of noise since it is a cafeteria style setting.

Jiko is a quiet resteraunt setting, which is what I prefer. I tried to get reservations at Jiko, but I had a hard time getting them early enough so I settled for Boma. In 2008 when we go I am just going to choose Jiko.

In summary, I would select Jiko (knowing it is 2 credits) and just pay for the Tusker House.

We don't like buffets so the choice is easy for us -- Jiko!
