JFK Long Term Parking Question...

has anyone left their car at JFK? we are flying american airlines at 6pm on a weeknight... arriving back to JFK at 7pm, also on a weeknight...

what were your experiences w/long term parking at JFK? should i be nervous? do i dare bring my new car or should i borrow my niece's '89? what kind of "commute" do you have from parking to terminal? is it worth the hundred bucks each way to take a car service?

I would use one of the off site parking lots. They help you with the luggage and they drop you off right in front of the terminal and pick up up when you return . I have used Avistar at both JFK & LGA and they were good. Open & guarded 24/7. Go to the website avistarparking.com for reserveration and coupons, they also have a AAA discount. We are using them in August for our Disneyland trip. Make sure to make a reserveration as they do fill up. I have parked a new Explorer and never had an issue

We are renting a car locally to drive ourselves to the airport...it's under $50 through Hertz. Maybe you could consider this as an option?

wow, thanks dvc guy... i checked out avistar's website and got a coupon and made a reservation... they sound too good to be true! i also checked their reputation w/the better business bureau and liked what i saw! thanks again! avistar seems to be the way to go!

cheshirekitty... great suggestion, but unfortunately for us, getting a rental car would take us 40 miles from our home, and we'd have to park our car at the rental lot! LOL! seems like a lot of work! LOL!

is the Avistar lot easy to find and get out of? I have a car service booked, but this would save a chunk of change, but I would be arriving there at 5 am and picking up at 1 am.

they have directions on their website... it looked pretty easy to find... and they are open 24 hours...
