Just wondering...
I know there's a whole selection of DCL merchandise, and assorted sundries in the various shops on board....
How about some gold and diamonds :D :) :D ?
(Also, any "finer" Mickey jewelry?)
If yes, did the prices seem reasonable or outlandish?
Thanks so much.

In Treasure Ketch there are some really nice "real gold" Mickey Jewelry. Earring, charms, necklaces, etc. There are also some nice expensive Swarvorski crystal pins. They had a sale toward the end of the cruise and instead of paying $110 I paid $85 for a Swarvorski Cyrstal MM Captain pin.

They have nice non Disney jewelry also. Price are reasonable and comparable to other jewlry stores.

There are some good deals on jewelry on the Magic. But, we discovered that you could find better prices on St Maarten. Just keep in mind that you have to 'haggle' to get a better deal and don't be afraid to shop around. Good Luck!

When we cruised in '98 I was thrilled to find a 14k gold replica charm of the Magic. I have a charm necklace with charms from different places we've visited, so it was a real find for me! I know they had other gold pieces, but can't remember exactly what they were, but I'm going to make sure to check them out when we cruise again in June. :D

I noticed some of the same gold jewelry (Mickey styles) that you would find at the better jewelers in WDW. Nice thing about the ship is NO TAX.

In St. Maarten, I found a little jewelry shop called The Place. It was not on Disney's list. Which means, they didn't pay Disney 10's of thousands of dollars to advertise. As you get into the village, if you make a left, it's down a little bit on the left. The salesman's name was Vikki? Bought my DW a beautiful tanzenite & diamond ring, got myself a funky pair of Oakley's and was fed non-stop, ice-cold Heinekens while her ring got sized. I will definately use them again when I make it back!

for gold and jewels I have found that the store in St Marteen and St Thomas are much better than the stores on the ship. Other than the mickey stuff of course!

I have used Grand Jewelers (both islands) and Princess Jewelers (ST Marten) with no problems. Grand Jewelers has a place in NYC you can go to if there's ever a problem. And yes, they'll also ply you with alcohol as you shop!

Like someone else said, they're not the "recommended" stores, which all that means is they didn't pay to advertise. Or give $$$ to the Cd which I've seen happen!
