So, I am flying out of BOS on Saturday 01-11 at 8:50am to MCO. What are the odds that all the crap with the weather, pilot restrictions and delays will be resolved by then???

For those who don't know, flights on JetBlue were grounded off and on for most of the past week. They shut down operations in BOS and NY for 17 hours the other night/day....

I just want to get to Orlando so I can have warm weather :)

My magic ball says good. From what the news said they grounded flights because the weather delays were causes crews to time out. That shouldn't be a problem

While I see great value in making sure we are all okay while flying and I am a HUGE JetBlue fan, I was consfused as to why this only affected them and not the rest of the airlines in the BOS/NY area....just an observation.

I too am positive we will get to our destination on Saturday its just that nagging feeling in the back of my mind. I'm sure its going to be fine.

Thank you!:woohoo:

It impacted other airlines, but huge percentage of JetBlue's flights eventually go in or out of these two cities. So cancelling flights out of BOS and JFK means a plane that was supposed to take people from MCO to DCA never left BOS to get to MCO. The legacy airlines have hubs in ATL, CLT, DFW, etc, and operations there were not as impacted, plus they have more planes to play with when there's a disruption....same goes for Southwest.

JetBlue has been involved in a few "stuck on the tarmac" incidents. Just a guess, but seems they were being proactive so that didn't happen again. I love JetBlue & prefer to fly them. I know it must have been very to upsetting to those whose flights got cancelled. But to me, cancelled is better than sitting on a tarmac in the cold, with no food, water or working toilets.

They cancelled our Tuesday flight out of Newark and the soonest flight available isn't until tomorrow. :(. Luckily the Dolphin was accommodating & changed our room reservations so we could add two days at the end and still stay for 10 days. What a hassle rearranging town cars, dinner reservations, etc.

Had to give up our Wishes Dessert Party. :(

Hopefully we take off tomorrow with no delays!

JB should be back on track before Sat. I pretty much fly only JB..yes, I've had issues, but if I'm going to use a very small airport (Worcester), then I have to expect some issues.
And if you travel in the winter months, it's always best to be prepared to make alternative plans. Storms happen. There is only so much airlines can do. I can well imagine the frustration travelers had last weekend and early in the week..it must have been awful. I think I would have rented a car and driven to another airport, one that didn't have such a backlog of travelers. JB is a huge presence in Boston, so it was hugely impacted.

We arrived today - (2 days late). Our flight was on time but the one before us had a mechanical difficulty, so took off right before us, 3 hours late.
We couldn't sit together and the only seats left were the extra roomy ones, but the waived the fee. Must say, the extra room was noticeable and we boarded first. Lol. I would consider paying the fee for that next time we go to Europe! Not worth the price for a 2 1/2 hr flight to Florida. LOLOLOL

JetBlue agent said to us at check in he never wants to live through the mess of the last week again!

I can well imagine what those gate agents went through! I've been on a couple of flights that were either delayed or cancelled. Man, passengers treated those gate agents as though the GA had caused the issues! My biggest issue? When you can't get a straight answer. I would rather hear 'I'm sorry, we just don't know yet' vs an answer that gives you incorrect info!
I had flights out of Worcester to MCO in early Dec. I knew going in that there could be issues due to visibility at Worc. And there were. They cancelled our flight and put us on buses and got us to Boston, where we had a plane waiting. No biggie. Got off 3 hrs late. BUT..coming back? Nightmare. The pilot announced, as we flew over Long Island, that we couldn't land in Worcester, and had to go to Boston. Okay, no biggie. We landed at 3, right on time, just the wrong airport. I texted my dh as soon as we landed, telling him I was on the ground in Boston! He told me no, we were landing in Worc! I told him I was more than a little familiar with Logan and knew where I was. he told me that he had just asked at the counter, at Worcester, when we were landing. He was told that we would be arriving in about 10 mins! He went back and told them that the flight was in Boston...he was told yet again, by the JB people at the counter, that no, we were landing in Worcester! We were told, in Boston, at four, that we would have buses there, but not until 5-5:30, and that it would take about 90 mins to get back to Worc....end of day commuters and rain combine to make a not so nice ride!! My dh told me he was on his way! Now, if JB had told him at 3:00, that we were in Boston, he could have hopped in the car and been there for 4!! But no...those waiting to pick up passengers were kept in the dark. I finally took the Logan Express to Framingham and he met me there. I sent JB an email telling them that while I had absolutely no issue with weather/visibility issues, I did have an issue with JB people either not knowing where a plane was, or just simply lying about it's whereabouts.

Hi Goofy,

We live 15 miles from Worcester. Usually fly PVD, MHT, or Logan. Will you use Worcester again? Make me nervous with only one flight per day!

Wow that's really bad. I have to say I think the service from JB is slipping lately. Last couple flights I've had with them I've had delay issues & lacking communication.

I fly out of Worcester for the first time on 2/2. Not counting this bad experience how have you been liking JB out of Worcester so far? Anything I need to know? I'm flying solo for a business trip & DH will be dropping me off.

Those extra leg-room seats are worth it flying home from MCO since it gets you in the preferred security line!

Absolutely! I've flown out of Worcester several times before, with no issue. And I'm flying out of there, to Ft Lauderdale, in two weeks. They don't have the instrumentation needed for low/no visibility...it's coming, but not here yet. So I know I'm taking my chances during the bad weather months. I've flown out of PVD and Logan as well. I like Worcester because its so close to home..and the parking is cheaper. We'll see how it goes in two weeks!

I think they do. They were an option when I was looking into flying to London....not cheap, but an option.

Here's hoping those flights out of Worcester go well....we need a functioning airport in this area. There are things to work out there, but JB wants to be a presence in Worcester. I hope they make it!

We had a great flight free in flight movie and we landed 36 min early.
