Jetblue Question

Hi all!

I am *very* impatiently awaiting for the early February tickets to be released. By looking at previous release dates I am hoping it is this Sunday.

My question though is: I was originally going to fly Southwest because of the second checked bag being free, and also because I heard that if the ticket goes lower then they give you a credit for the difference. Does anyone know if Jetblue does this? So say I spend $157 per person on the flight to Orlando when tickets first get released, and then a few days later it drops to $139. Will jetblue give me credit for that difference or is this only a Southwest thing?

Thank you! Other than reserving our hotel room at AOA, this will be the first big step to our trip. So excited!

JetBlue does this as well....you have to call to get the credit though, but otherwise its the same deal: it goes to an account for future use on JetBlue, and expires in a year.

My experience has been that JetBlue releases its best fares when it opens up the schedule. My past few trips I've bought within a day or two of schedule opening, and I then monitor until the trip. Of the four trips I can think of, only once was there a cheaper fare offered later, and I think I got around $44 in credit in total for 4 tickets ($11 pp).

JetBlue decreased fares four time last summer after I booked our two tickets for our September Disneyland trip. I ended up with a total of $86 in my travel bank. Each time it was kind of a pain to have to call in, wait on hold for a while and then wait for the agent to check for and apply the credit, but it was worth it. I was glad that we originally booked the flight we really wanted even though it wasn't the least expensive option. After the four credits, it ended up being the cheapest option and we were able to take the early morning flight we wanted to give us more time in the park.

It can happen in fairly significant amounts. For 5 people round trip, my fares went down between $350 and $400 (I forget exactly how much) in 1/13.

There actually was a way to do it online, but it required you to switch your seats and basically rebook. It may have been a glitch that's since been fixed though.

We got a credit for $500 and are using it this fall. Jetblue does not allow you to use your credit toward More Legroom seats though so we are going to lose about a hundred dollars when the travel bank money expires.

Yes we got a credit for over $800 (the price dropped twice on 6 tickets) and we are using it towards our upcoming trip. There are a few sites out there that will track the airfare once you have purchased and alert you when the price has dropped (I use yapta)
