Hi! I'm trying to put together our "budget" or going to Disney at the end of May - early June vac. I want to do some research on flying but I don't know how to go about it. I see the prices now but will they be close to that come the end of May 2011? We are going to be flying out of Syracuse with Jet Blue. Anyone with any type of advice would help me out!

Thanks!!

Two sites I use are yapta.com and farecompare.com to look at the history of prices. Once I book on Jetblue, I use Yapta to track the price I paid and they will e-mail me if the price falls. When the price falls, I call Jetblue for a credit. You can also use both sites to put in a target price and they will notify you if it hits that price.

Hi! I'm from the Utica area and have flown Jet Blue out of Syracuse many times. :) I have found that in general, the earlier you buy your tickets, the cheaper they are. Flying on a weekday is usually less expensive. If you can be flexible a day or two on your arrival and departure date, it can save you a lot of money sometimes. I can usually get a fight during a non-peak period in the range of $250 pp rt. Then watch the rates, and if they drop, you can get a credit towards a future flight. (It has to be used within one year I believe.)

Jet Blue is currently booking into May, so I would keep watching their site. You might consider getting a Jet Blue credit card. (I don't have one but wish I did. You can build up points fast when you use it to purchase your tickets, and it is free for the first year.) Be sure you become a member of their frequent flyer program. We love the airline and would highly recommend them.

If you are interested, AirTran flies out of Rochester. I have never flown them but I have seen some very cheap rates on their website. Hope this helps!
