just to let you seattle folks know jetblue is going to run from seattle to long beach at the end of may.

I just wanted you guys to know you have another option.

So excited, I've been anxiously awaiting this. They're also going to be doing a flight from SEA to San Diego (I believe it's just 1 flight a day...?). I've heard so many good things about Jet Blue and Long Beach airport is my favorite, so this is great news.

I fly JetBlue into Long Beach and absolutely LOVE it. I love the airline, the airport, everything about it. Nothing like taking a one hour flight, getting off the plane, getting our car rental, and being in the park within 45 minutes from landing. :) LOVE IT!

Woohoo!!! This is awesome news. We've enjoyed flying direct on Alaska to Long Beach and I've heard awesome things about JetBlue. I'm excited to have another option. Love the Long Beach airport! :cool1:

What is everyones favorite transfer from Long Beach to Disney? We are flyinig in one month from today!!! YAHOO!:cool1:

i didn't think there really was a choice. there are flat-rate cabs, $40

i guess you could go by bus with multiple transfers

you can book now if you want to if your going end of may or after, same for San Diego

thats really awesome for me as a local- I want to visit Seattle!

We're flying into Long Beach in early May. There will be 6 of us so I've been checking into van service. So far the best rates seem to be through Xpress Shuttle. I haven't called yet to get a firm quote and reservation but their online system shows the cost at $156 round trip. I thought that was pretty good since we'd have to pay more than twice that for Karmel Shuttle and not be guaranteed no other stops along the way.

BTW - I'm glad to know people like flying into this airport. It's our first trip using it and I was concerned becasue we've always flown into Orange County. Long Beach was our best option to get Kids Fly Free airfare on Alaska.

how could $156 for a roundtrip shared van be good when a cab is $40 flat rate each way? am i missing something?

Flights only go out through October 31st but I'll be checking for when they add December dates.

Does flat rate mean 3 people can ride in the cab for that price or will it cost more?

i've only done it by myself at LGB, but typically speaking, you don't pay per person on cabs. sometimes there is a surcharge if you hit X amount of people.

Well, we have 6 people plus luggage so I'm assuming a taxi wouldn't hold us all and we'd need two - for $80 each way or $160 round trip. If we can get a taxi for $40 and fit everyone plus luggage, we'd love to know so we can save that money for use at the parks. :-)

Wow.... thanks for letting us know. I just priced out fares in August for 5 of us from Seattle for approx. $1100! To compare, flying out of our home (Kelowna B.C.) would cost over $3000. Now, I am certain a seat sale with Westjet or Air Canada will come up but I don't think it can compare with that low fare!!!! Heck, what's a 6 hour drive to Seattle if you can save a couple of grand??!!! All the more money for souvenirs and treats!!!!

oh... even so.. unless you're not planning on tipping the cab driver, i'd think it might be worth paying a little more just to have door to door service without having to stop at other hotels
