JetBlue Flight Change

I booked our flights from Newark (EWR) to MCO in late March. At the time there were only 4-5 flights available that day to MCO. I chose a flight leaving at 10 AM and landing around 12:30 PM. Two days ago I got an email saying that my flight times had been changed from 10:10 AM to 7:30 AM! For me this is a HUGE amount of time. Our new flight time has us arriving at MCO only 20 minutes after our 1st flight would have left. I could have chosen a 7:30 AM flight initially, as it was cheaper, but chose to pay more for the later flight. I called JetBlue and they said that they "modify" flight times every 3 weeks? Rep was a little snide and said that that's what happens when you book so far in advance!

My question is do you think the flights will change again? Has anyone experienced this before with JetBlue? We normally fly with them and this is the 1st time this has ever happened, but teh rep made it seem like it was common practice? TIA!!

I had the same think happen for a flight in November. I guess they are getting rid of the 10:30 flight. I was able to change both legs to a flight out and into JFK. And it ended up cheaper so they refunded our points. See if there is another flight you want and call back

As long as you didn't already accept the change I believe they will give you a refund and you are then free to book another flight or even airline, you would have to check with JB first. So if the earlier flight, or another airline, is cheaper you could go with that option and save money that way via a refund.

Also most airlines are constantly adjusting schedules for one reason or another. Sometimes it due to the airports they are flying in and out of, sometimes it's due to crew and/or aircraft scheduling, and it can also be due to dropping a particular flight(s) as it's not profitable.

JetBlue just delayed my flight in November an hour. I am so mad already. I'm panicking it will change over and over. I keep hearing horror stories with JetBlue especially out of Newark!

So we just changed our flight from the last one of the day to the first one of the day because of the not so great flight record of the later flight. We lucked out since they changed the time of our original flight, they were able to change us to the earlier flight with no fees except for the fact we had to purchase even more space seats since they were the only ones left, that were next to each other.

We spent the better part of an hour trying to figure out all the maths in if it was cheaper to just buy new tickets, or what the cost with the fees for the flight change would be.

Totally lucked out only because the website wasn't working and wouldn't load our original flight plans.

So we only had to spend 80$ out of pocket for this, versus $500 for new tickets or $450 for a flight change with fees.
