Jetblue does it again...

I agree.. why did the plane leave FL in the first place? I couldn't tell you how many times I have been delayed leaving Florida and sitting on the tarmac for weather issues in another airport. Many times you get to the destination airport and not a single cloud in the sky.
Sounds like bad preparation on someone's part.
And yes, even if you use toilet paper in the toilets on an airplane they can fill up. How many folks on the plane for how many hours... yes they will fill up. The waste doesn't dissolve in the air or anything.

Some of you have more patience than me. After an hour, maybe 2, I'm out the emergency door. Arrest me if you want. I'd rather spend a few hours in a jail cell than stuck on an airplane going nowhere.

Enjoy the big fat fine too. It's not just jail time you will be exposed to, but also fines from the FAA.

I believe that in addition to the B6 planes there was also one AA plane that was stuck on the tarmac for a lengthy period.

Without a doubt, the weather and airport issues played a role, but I do think that B6 needs help with their Irrops. I don't know who their chief of operations is, but they needed to have a point person in management to troubleshoot this and other major problems.

I'm not sure what their procedure is during weather events, but if Jetblue management is not working during these events and leaving everything to the folks out in the field then they need to change their operating procedures.

I love Jetblue and pretty much fly them exclusively but their performance here appears to be very poor, and they stand to pay more than $3M in fees for keeping the passengers on the tarmac that long. That is not good business. Not only does B6 have a PR problem, they have a bottom line problem if they continue to allow these types of scenarios to play out.

As a big fan of JetBlue, they have some serious logistic issues to work on.

That said, there is also some parts of the story that are getting less attention, like the fact that it took a signficant amount of time for customs to be available, which means, that they plane cannot let passengers into the terminal.

Well, even if that was applicable to the Jet Blue story it's also not entirely true. You can be let back off a place without clearning customs/immigartion. They just secure you in the gate area. (been there, done that on AA)

As for the "tow in" At some airports due to the fact that they have WEDGED the gates in there (LAX comes to mind) you have to be towed in. The "airplane engines" aren't designed for these places.

But it's not the airline who secures you in the gate area, it's the airport and customs.

When they left FL, they thought they could land in Newark as scheduled. Something happened in Newark and the airport was closed. They were low on fuel so they went to Hartford instead, along with over 20 other planes.
