:)Hi! We are 12 days from our vacation & last night I was lucky to see our Jetblue flights were down. I called & we now have $30 credits each. :woohoo:

I forgot to ask the agent 2 questions & hope someone can help me, please.

1. I think we have 1 year to book using these credits, right? Just have to book within the 1 year, not travel by the 1 year mark, right?

2. Can the credit by used to book a flight for someone else, or just the person whose account it is? In other words, can I book a flight for myself using daughter's credit or is she the only one who can use that credit? I know on SW, the credit can be used by someone else, not sure what Jetblue's rules are.

Thanks for any answers!! :)

Yes, book within the year. Confirm that with Jet Blue, since things change, but so far that's been the policy.

Credits can be transferred. Vouchers can't.

Thanks for your help! I thought that's how they worked but wanted some confirmation. I'll check of course before we want to use them to make sure nothing changed. :)

What do you mean by credit? I noticed the price for our flights have gone down since I booked them... will they give you credit for the difference?

Yes, you need to call Jetblue and they will take a look to make sure the same amount of tickets your bought are all that price, sometimes this is an issue (for example, if you are holding 4 tickets, but the lower price is only for 3 seats at that price, then you can not get the credit). If you are due a credit, they will put it in your true blue account to be used towards another flight within a year of the day you get the credit. Keep in mind that you only have to use the credit within the year, the flight can be later. Plus the credit can be for any ticket purchase, so not necessarily for yourself. I find their agents to be very friendly and helpful.

What's the difference between a credit and a voucher?

Besides that credit can be transferred and vouchers can't? :teeth:

Okay. A credit is in exchange for money you paid for your airfare. The nonrefundable fare goes down, and while the airline isn't required to by any means, some - JetBlue, Southwest, AirTran while it exists - will, if you ask, "hold" the excess value for you to be applied to a subsequent flight. JetBlue (and Southwest for now) allows you to transfer the amount of this credit to anyone else. After all, it was your money originally.

A voucher is something JetBlue gives the passenger when something unexpectedly goes wrong. Someone recently posted that her TV wasn't working - about half the channels didn't come in. JetBlue e-mailed all the passengers on that flight vouchers for later use. Two years ago, they knew my flight (all the westbound cross-country flights that day) needed to stop in Denver to refuel. They announced at the gate that all passengers would get a $25 voucher - again, via e-mail.

Vouchers are for specific issues for specific passengers. Only those passengers can redeem them.
