Jetblue checked bag fee....

We do don't we! That trip is our cruise trip. Flying out of Dulles on united on 9/10. Haven't booked return yet. Either JetBlue into Reagan or united into Dulles on 9/23. We really hop between airports. In August we are flying SW out of bwi and jetblue back into Reagan. Of course we have our yearly October trip. Nothing booked yet to leave, but home is on the new SW nonstop into Reagan on November 7. Guess we are lucky to have options.
Yeah we try going out of Dulles but it always seems to be cheaper for us to go out of Reagan. Take us about hour and half to get there where Dulles is about 50 minutes. BWI is about 2 hours for us so we stick to Dulles and Reagan. For now it works for us. Would love to see cheap nonstop flights out of Dulles.

As of this morning they are charging for luggage when you make a reservation.

I saw that too. Not too bad though. About 15 extra for first bag between fares. Glad I got my October ticket on Sunday. Guess no sense in watching for a fare drop for the next 2 weeks.....Looks like the overhead storage just got packed!

Sorry to see my info turned out to be correct. Oh well such is life; hope everyone booked beforehand.

Those fees aren't all that bad. Better to get it free, but nothing lasts forever. Good thing I have a good carry-on bag!!!

The pricing is in line with the rest of the industry. It's interesting that it seems to align with what AA did with their fares (Choice on AA, Blue on B6), which DL and UA have yet to follow.

As general advice, even if your airline offers you free checked baggage or you're not cost sensitive to it, everybody should have (at least) one good carry-on bag. Checked bags sometimes go awry, and always take 15-30 minutes longer since you have to go to the baggage claim, so I only check if I have to (and I do have free checked bags).

Please note that you only have to pay for a checked bag if you buy a Blue fare. If you buy Blue Plus you get 1 free checked bag; Blue Flex, 2 free checked bags.

I can travel for up to 5 days doing just carry-on...so not an issue. It's the others in my family!! One would think they were going to be stranded without any way to buy what they need!
Have two very good carry-on bags....so, I get to choose the one that fit my needs best!

I just got an email from JB outlining the changes, and new fare classes.

It looks like it's $15 if you buy a Blue Plus ticket, $20 if you pay when you check in online or at a kiosk and $25 if you pay at the counter. I was hoping they would throw in a free bag if you purchased one of the even more legroom seats since that comes with other perks already.

Do you think there will be a problem showing that tickets were purchased before the policy change?

No. In fact, the system won't let them charge for the first bag, only a second and subsequent. The old tickets are equivalent to a higher tier fare (which you can still buy).
