I usually fly Southwest out of San Antonio, but Jet Blue has great prices out of Austin to Orlando. My cousin, a travel agent who books professional company travel, hate dealing with Jet Blue. She doesn't care much for Southwest. either. That said, I usually have good experiences with Southwest...so, I'm thinking of trying Jet Blue because of the price.

If you've flown Jet Blue, was it overall a good experience...comparable to other airlines, realizing that ANY airline can have problems?

We always use Jetblue or Delta with their "more legroom" seats.
Never had any problem with either.

I've never had a problem with JetBlue. I've flown them many times to many destinations, both long and short flights. I personally love the tvs.

They also have a policy (like Southwest), that if the fare goes down you can get a credit. However, unlike Southwest, the only way to do it is to call, it cannot be done online.

I have never had a flight time changed on me. I have had it done multiple times by Delta.

All of their planes are similar, so that if there is a change in equipment there is not ensuing anarchy about the assigned seats since the seating is usually the same. Other airlines who use multiple plane configurations - chaos.

Perhaps, the travel agent thinks they are a pain to deal with because of the commission structure or payment process.

Normally fly Southwest, which we like. Last year flew Jet Blue due to cost. It was awesome. New plan, more leg room, tv in back if seats. If it wasn't for our frequent flyer points on Southwest, I would choose Jet Blue.

Former Southwest girl here. Now a Jet Blue girl. Love it! Wish they had more non stops out of MCO.

I fly Jetblue almost exclusively. They are a great airline who try really hard to do right by their customers. Their customer bill of rights is easy to find and easy to decipher and I almost never have to track down credits or anything like that. We usually pay for even more space which comes with even more speed for free (gets you through security faster at most airports) but neither is 100% necessary. All flights have free WiFi and you get as many snacks and drinks from the complementary menu as you want. I also like their for sell boxes and they seem like a good value at $5.

If you aren't paying for extra leg room seats and have carry ons choose a seat towards the back of the plane. Jetblue loads in this order Those needing assistance due to disability, mosaic, extra leg room, families with children under 2, rows in groups of 5-10 from back to front. So the more forward you are the more likely overhead bin space is full. They are usually very strict with their boarding policies and will not let you on in the pre-boarding assistance if you don't speak with a gate rep first and family boarding especially to Orlando is usually kept at 2 and under.

YAY! I love Jet Blue. Southwest is my other airline of choice. I don't know what being a travel agent has to do with anything. Both airlines are the MOST consumer friendly ones in the skies domestically by a long shot.

We always take Jet Blue from Long Beach, CA to Orlando via Austin. It's a great flight and almost always the cheapest option for us.

We fly JetBlue almost exclusively. Tvs. Free snacks. Great pricing. Assigned seats (not groups). You could even get the extra legroom seats if you wanted.

We also fly JetBlue almost exclusively. In fact the only time we do not fly JetBlue is if we are flying to a location they do not service. Their crews are fantastic, the TVs at each seat make the flight times go by very quickly and we love the Even More Space seats.

I think it is because Jet Blue isn't a legacy carrier or a code share carrier, so if a flight is cancelled (and evidently she deals with this often) they are a pain, as other carriers will not take their passengers. With rare exception, Southwest can also be a problem if a flight gets cancelled. I have friends flying JetBlue to Long Beach from Austin next month. I'm anxiously waiting to see how their trip goes, and will probably book Jet Blue Austin to Orlando. Oh, can Jet Blue use the baggage kiosk at the Disney resorts to check baggage for departing flights?

All things being equal I like JB over SW. But from AUS keep in mind there is only 1 non-stop and that's after all the other AUS-MCO flights for the day. So if that's cancelled you're going to a different airline or waiting a day. Also JB charges for checked baggages, either via a feee or a higher priced ticket where SW is free for two checked bags.

And yes you can check in your bags at the Disney resorts for JB flights.

Yes, I saw that on the checked bags. I'll probably do Blue + on the trip down, and pack my suitcase inside a larger bag, and have two suitcases (and the more expensive seat) coming home so I can buy stuff. ;).
If I could not check the bags at the resort, that may have been a deal breaker. I hate hauling luggage, especially if I have two bags. Thanks for the info.

Love the low prices, nonstop flights & solid customer service from Jet Blue. Flown them again & again with no issues.

I haven't flown out of Austin since they moved the airport to Bergstrom. In San Antonio I use airport security park for long term parking. Who does everyone use in Austin?

There's the garage which is most expensive. The they just opened a new place, Park & Zoom, there's also Fast Park and The Parking Spot, all of which are covered.

Good, I'd want covered parking. Is any one better than another as far as service or shuttles?

Haven't done Park & Zoom so can't answer. Fast Park is the cheapest and largest so sometimes you get a long pickup/drop off ride. Parking Spot more expensive last time I checked. They have an app to track shuttles and offer a wash service the day you pick up.

Look at cost of changes and cancellations. JetBlue is $75. Better than Delta but I believe worse than Alaska and southwest.

The only thin I don't really like is the above and the limited and/or expense of routes out of my home airport. It makes flight credits more difficult for me to use.

The a tracking app sounds neat. I'm going in December this year, so it may be to icy for the wash service, even in Texas, you never know...LOL

I wish the states would get busy on making all the toll systems compatible. I have a SunPass, doesn't work with TxTag from Seguin to the airport on 130.
