Jet Blue Is Now Open!!

I just booked our two round trippers out of BDL for Sept today for $438 after tax!!

Great Price!
I priced out both BDL and HPN and BDL was a bit less but the first flight out was later (8:30am) so we opted to go with HPN with the 6:30am flight, 2hours more Disney time.
I checked my flight around dinner hour and my return flight was $25 more than when I bought :scared1:

Just jumped and bought our RT tickets for Sept/Oct. I REALLY want to fly Southwest because Islip airport is a dream compared to JFK but at $215 per person RT and Southwest at $144 one way and not even OPEN yet for our return flight I just couldnt wait anymore.

I am extremely happy with the price and the one free checked bag!

It is a credit for future use. If you have a Tru Blue account, they put it in there. Good for 1 year from when you got the credit, not when you booked. I think someone other than the original passenger can use it, too.

I didn't have a Tru Blue account in 2009 & the credit was just tied to the confirmation no. that was a little more work to use, tho. So it seems better to have a Tru Blue account.

Just call them if you see a lower price & they'll credit the difference. The only thing is, when I did this the first time, they "rebooked" & we actually paid the extra leg room charge twice. Don't know if that is usual or not. Never paid for the extra leg room after the first trip.

Yes,you can use it for someone other than the original passenger. I had booked flights for my MOm and son, and got the credit applied to my true blue account. Then I could use it for whomever I wanted when I booked my next flight. Also, although you have to book within a year, you don't have to fly within the year.

As for checking price, as another poster mentioned, go to yapta.com and it will track the price for you. It then e-mails you. Much easier, and boy do I love seeing those yapta price alerts in my mailbox!

One more note, when you call for the price reduction, make sure you ask them to alert the trueblue dept to re-instate your online booking points bonus. I thought you just automatically lost them, but when I got a credit recently the very nice agent (I didn't even ask) told me she would send the e-mail to the true blue dept so I dont lose my bonus points. (Because the credit is not something you can do online yourself.)

Is there any kind of notification service for when JB opens out for future dates?

I've been watching the last 2 weeks almost daily & stumbled across that they opened to 10/29 this am. Fares are much better than what I have been seeing (Hartford-MCO vs ALB). But I really want Nov 5-12...

Thanks,

Thanks,

I know I get notified of when they are going to post new fares, like last week either Friday or Saturday I recieved an email alerting me to the fact that on Monday March 7th they would be extending fares up to Oct 29th.

I am thinking perhaps when you open up a true blue account there is an option to be notified??? I honestly do not recall for sure where you sign up to be notified, perhaps someone else knows positively

I booked Jet Blue from Buffalo for Sept, $289 return, :thumbsup2
great price compared to air canada or westjet from toronto ($600+!!)
I have a few questions though, sorry if they're a bit dumb but I'm new to booking online.....

so I booked, paid with cc, even reserved seats :) printed the booking details, then received a confirmation email. Is the email my e-ticket?

In the email there was a link for each of our names under the PAYMENT heading, stating "For a detailed receipt, select a customer for each person's name to go and check" so I clicked on my name and it takes me to "Virtually there" web site....which shows a message
"We're sorry, you currently do not have a valid eTicket viewable on Virtually There® "
What is that all about? What am I missing? Should I care? :headache:

We are probably going to do the same thing...have flown out of Islip for years now....but southwest prices are way too high to justify doing so for our trip 9/28-10/2 so Jet Blue here we come

On the confirmation JB sent me said about me not choseing the extra leg room and offered them for $10, with a clickable link to "change seats"

I was going to book those seats except when I thought about it I honestly do not think I could help others like it stated in an emergency, DH said "I can open the door" I told him to read again it said you had to help other passengers exit :rotfl:

Dont feel bad..after reading this post I went back to my confirmation email to click on that "$10" link and it is "starts" at $10.....for my flights it would be $35 each way per person.....

Another Long Islander here, heading down to the World at the end of October...

I was also going to jump on the Jet Blue bandwagon...until I priced out transportation to/from JFK. Van services like Winston and Super Shuttle priced out at around $185 R/T form DH and me - private town cars were in the $250 to $275 range! :scared1:

Those prices - combined with the additional travel time (50-60 mins to JFK vs. 20 mins to ISP) and extra time to go through security - convinced us that we'd most likely go with SW out of ISP, even if the flights end up costing us in the $600 range.

I know the feeling...luckily the friend I am traveling with would have no problem (and has used in the past) the LIRR to the train-to-the-plane....but I am sure our husbands will drop us and pick us up....

I mentioned the train-to-the-plane as an option to my husband, but he wasn't crazy about it. Probably because he knows he'll be the one lifting my heavy suitcase onto the overhead rack on the train, LOL.

I wouldn't ask my sister to drive us to JFK and subject her to the hell that is the Belt Parkway, but she's happy to drop us at Islip. Hard to say "no" to free transportation, right?!

I went back to look at my confirmation and I somehow missed the "starts at $10", DH wanted to book the x-tra leg room seats but with me having a few medical issues we decided against it.

You don't really have a paper ticket. You can either check in online before you
leave and print your boarding pass at home, or check in at the airport and they will print your pass. All you need is your confirmation number, although I do usually bring the e-mail with me. If you don't have a printer, you can still check in online and just print your boarding pass once at the airport.

I had that problem recently with that virtual tickets site, it told me the same thing (i bought last week). But that is just a receipt telling you how much you paid, it is not your ticket. As long as you can sign in on the jet blue site with your confirmation number, and it says confirmed, you are good to go! Hope that helps. Leaving tomorrow for the World, on JB, yay!

Well that's a relief...thanks so much for your response. Yes I can sign in on the jetblue site :thumbsup2

Have fun at the World :yay:

Have you flown out of the Buffalo airport before? I do all the time and it's no big deal to not print your boarding pass ahead of time. Doesn't save that much time and the lines are never really long there anyway.

No, I have never been to Buffalo airport. Thanks for the info.

What days are you going?? I also booked out of Buffalo for $289 round trip, leaving in the morning coming back in the afternoon/evening - both direct! These flights were about $150 cheaper than the ones I saw on Southwest. With Southwest, the flight prices have steadily increased the longer they have been out so I jumped on jet blue while they were low! I didn't have any problems booking directly through jetblue.com. I actually almost finished it out through orbitz.com until I realized I couldn't select my seats.

We booked these flights (Sep 24-Oct 01) on Monday and I'm so glad we did....if booked today the cost is $329 :scared1:

Not trying to pry but JetBlue does offer complimentary medical seating (which is extra leg room) so you may want to call
