Can somebody help me out with JB? I just noticed the fares I have been watching and getting ready to buy have gone up $20 each (I need 4 tickets). But then I noticed that if I put in just the 2 adults or 1 adult, 1 child the original price comes up. So I have 2 questions: First can I split my reservation and buy 2 and then 2 to get the lower price? Also, when do you get to see the seats during the booking process? I am reluctant to do this and run the chance that once I purchase the first 2 the other ones will no longer be available, since I have no idea how many seats are still available on the plane. I suppose I could open 2 windows at the same time, but when will I see the seating? I really would like us all to sit together, being this is a 5 1/2 hour flight, but how do I know before I book? I have emailed Jet Blue about the seating and after waiting 2 days I got back a form reply that had nothing to do with my question, "We're sorry but we are unable to provide you a price quote by email..." WTH? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

There are only a certain # of seats available at the lower rate.....that's why it only comes up when you enter the two passengers. There are not 4 seats available with the discount rate. You could do the two ressies, but the second one would most likely come up with the higher price. I guess two at the discount is better than none, but I'm not sure how the seating would play out. Can you get the same rates if you call and book over the phone? Maybe then they can book your seats together.....even if they are not all the same price.....??

Hi, I am not a JetBlue expert, but it is possible that there is only 3 seats left at that price and then you (and the people that purchase after you) will pay the higher price. Also I would book one adult and the 2 children and then the other adult ,if you have to split 3 and 1,or book 2 and 2 (adult/child) then at least you are with your child(children). Good LUCK! Joan

and I called because I needed to know if they would hold the tickets. They don't do courtesy hold but they were able to tell me how many seats remained at the lowest price. I knew that there were 9 seats at the lowest price and I needed 4 of them so I didn't have much time.

Give them a call and ask them. They will tell you how many are left.

As for seating, when you purchase the tickets, you will have the opportunity to select your seats. If you cannot get seats together, then select the most reasonable grouping and get to the airport a bit early and tell the gate agent your dilemma. They don't want to separate children/adults so I'm sure they will work with you to try and keep you together.

Good luck.

This happened to us last October. It's exactly what others have told you - not enough seats at the lower fare to cover your party. We ended up booking as many as possible at the lower rate and then the remainder at the higher rate. About 2 weeks before our trip the rates all dropped so we got credit for the difference and applied to to a trip to SEA this summer.
