Jet Blue and March Break?

Just got home from holidays and noticed that I got my notification that JB posted its fares up until the end of February on July 15th. This appears to be something new, as the late July or early August posting always has included March Break. Any ideas on this one? How come the change and how will that effect booking for March break as those dates will not be released until much later!

We booked our March break fares last year in Sept as this is when they came out.

Agree that I booked Jet Blue for March break the day they were released last September.

I should add that given the economy, I could have flown Air Canada out of Toronto (where I live) for cheaper if I had waited!!

I flew direct Saturday - Saturday last year on JetBlue and paid $400US per ticket!! About double what I paid the year before!!!

Yes, AC and WJ had some great fares for last Feb and March dates out of To.
We paid $304 rtn all taxes incl last Feb with AC and $337 with WJ in March. Who knows if they'll do that again but I did just book WJ into FLL for Jan 2010 for $400 pp. Could have waited to see if it dropped but thought why take the chance when I am pretty happy with that?

Yes, I also booked our JB airfare last July 31st at midnight for March Break, but that also included all of February 2009. Since JB has already released dates up to the end of February 2010, I am thinking that they may hold back on releasing the March 2010 dates until later? Doesn't SW post its March dates later than JB? Is this a competition thing?

I am booking the tickets on my existing JB credit for my DS and his DGF as a Christmas Gift. SYR is much closer for them to travel out of as we live in Eastern Ontario and you don't have the customs delays and line-ups at the border! Sorry, I avoid flying out of Canada at all costs due to the increased expense and the fact that Pearson is a Zoo during March Break. Way too many close calls and bad experiences over the last 35 years!
