Does anyone know anything about Jersey week? From what I've seen, it looks like it is the week of Nov 5 this year. Does it get alot more crowded? That is the week we're considering going, but I will change my plans if it will be extra crowded that week. Thanks!

The crowds will be manageable.

Here are future Jersey Weeks. While it is busier than other times in November it is not that bad, especially if you get to the Parks when they open. It is very quiet first thing. Gets busier as the day goes on tho.

I was in WDW during last November's Jersey Week and it was great. The crowds were fine. Line waits were short for the most part. Me and the DGF are going back the same time this year.

There is no doubt that "Jersey Week" (November 5-12, 2006) will be busier than the weeks surrounding it. But even so, with normal trip planning, Jersey Week is fine. Do the big rides early and book popular restaurants well in advance. Though there are many here who won't ever consider going that week again, as it was too busy for their taste. I guess it also depends on what you are used to. The other issue is that many kids besides Jerseyans have days off that week, as many have Veterans Day off, which makes the Friday-Sat very busy.

Hope this helps! :)

We've gone in summer, December. Oct and November. In November we were there from the Thursday of Jersey Week for the next 9 days through the week after Jersey week and I would say that the week after Jersey Week is one of the nicest weeks I've ever gone.

Ideally, I would get there the last Sat/Sun week-end of Jersey week, so that I could take advantage of the Festival of the Masters Art Show at Downtown Disney and the last week-end of the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. As Sunday lingers on (good time to do the Food and Wine Festival), the crowds really dwindle quickly and by the end of Sunday the place just seemed to quiet down.

You don't need to use the word "manageable", just "relaxed and not crowded". The Christmas decorations are gradually going up. This year we were even able to see the Osbourne Lights at MGM. We went swimming every day. It was really beautiful. Jersey Week has an atmosphere all it's own and compared to summer, I felt it was almost as crowded.

If you have a choice, IMO, the week between Jersey Week and Thanksgiving week has been the nicest crowd wise and atmosphere wise that we've ever experienced.

I'm really surprised to see these responses. I was there for Jersey Week in '05 and I will never go back during that time. The parks were PACKED. Especially that Sunday and then Tuesday on through the rest of the week.

My suggestion is that if you can go the week before or the week after, you'll be happy that you did.

Thanks everyone. Our other option is to go the following week (week of 11/12) or go in October (week of 10/15). Right now that's the good thing....I don't have any set time I have to go, we've got a few choices. We went last April, and I think we hit spring break for lots of schools because it was pretty crowded. That's what we're trying to avoid.

CNMOONER : I'm wondering - did you use touring plans? did you get there when it opened? Did you have ADRs? I ask because we will be there for the last half of Jersey Week this year and I'm hoping that these stategies will make the heavier crowds tolerable. Thanks ahead for any info.

If you don't get up and out early, I think Jersey week's wait lengths can be a surprise. Also, if you don't like people from New Jersey, don't go.

[/QUOTE] I do not think Jersey Week will be as bad as Spring break but if I were you I would go the week of 11/12, after the weekend it should be smooth sailing.

Yes, yes and yes. We used touring plans religously (Tour Guide Mike) and got to the parks before opening and had ADRs. By 9:45 am the line for Soarin' was 120 minutes. And the Grand Floridian pool was PACKED to the brim. In fact, we left the parks early that first Sunday to escape the parks and went to DTD. Guess what? PACKED with Jersey people! The line for Earl of Sandwich was around the building!

I will never go back during Jersey week. It looked like summer to me.

Since you are from NJ (so is my DH for that matter, so nothing bad meant by it), but it is very difficult to explain the atmosphere. This is a VERY good way of putting it. New Jersey people do not slow down on vacation either nor are they really a "quiet" bunch. This is a very true statement. Not sure if it is really as many people as in the summer, but to me it felt crowded like in the summer.

You will really hear many people from the busy east coast places think it's not bad, and many comments from midwesterners stating it was too busy and crowded. I think it's the life style you're used to. It was very interesting, I've never experienced a week like that where a "personality" kind of took over the "world". It was very interesting, but I was glad I was only there for the last part of the week and had the whole next quiet week to enjoy my vacation.

It did bring back wonderful memories of my husbands Aunt who lived in Allendale, NJ and worked in Manhattan. I smiled allot to myself and could easily visualize Aunt Billie mixed in the crowd.

We went this past year during Jersey week and it was awesome!!! I would do it again in a heartbeat!!:thumbsup2
