Now that we've switched our dates to 11/1-11/9, we will be travelling during Jersey Week. We were originally going to go the following week, but it just makes more sense to use the days my son has off from school (he will miss 2 school days) than to have him miss the whole next week as well.

For anyone who has been there during Jersey week, can you tell me about the crowds? I know it is November, so it shouldn't be too crowded. I am just wondering about probable wait times and whether or not EMH will be helpful? If most people use EMH, should we go for the day after EMH strategy?

Thanks for any help!

1st: weather is great
crowds are not bad
we do BB Or TL on weekend (empty) usually Sun
we avoid EMH park

Hello,
We are from Jersey and went there during Jersey week last year. Everything was fine. The lines were not long and the weather was about 90's and still a little humid. The only thing I would caution is that we went to MGM on the Sat. of the end of Jersey week. That was Super Soaps weekend. I've heard that it always is. Even with the busloads of extra people there, it still wasn't too bad. I think that has to do with the fact that they were hunting down soap stars, and we were enjoying the park.
Go down and have a great time!!!

I keep reading every post I can about the crowds during Jersey Week and MNSSHP on the 31st and no one agrees. Some posts say the crowds were "summer-like" and others say there was no difference or very few people.

I'm guessing that the Halloween party is similar to the Christmas party in that the later it gets, the less crowded it becomes. The second parade is better (crowd wise) than the first so go on the rides during the first parade.

Jersey Week is an enigma. I cannot get the crowd level straight in my mind. We always go during the traditionally least crowded times of the year. Everyone's idea of crowded is different.

To me a long line is 30 minutes. Anything more than 30 minutes is unacceptable. We'll pass it up and come back another time. I'm used to anything from walk-on multiple times to 5-15 minutes during an average trip.

What are the wait times like during Jersey Week?

We have gone the last four years in a row Jersey week. We are morning people and take advantage of ee mornings. Every year we have had no problem doing all of fant. land before 10am with no lines at all. Same thing at MGm rode Star Tours 5 times in a row with no wait.

Yes by late afternoon things do get a little more crowded, but no more than 30 mint.

The weather has always be wonderful mid 70's, but once in awhile we'd get a hot day mid 80's.

The park hours are short.

Halloween was the most crowded I've ever seen the park, however the cm's were saying it was do to the locals coming into the parks. And they were right by the next day the park was empty. If you go for Halloween night follow the tips on this board and you'll be ok. (We did dinner at liberty tree, started with adventure land and worked our way around, did fantsy land during the first parade).

0506- We are neighbors...I live in Marlton, NJ. Thanks for your post. We will probably take advantage of EMH at MK and MGM. Star Tours is our DS(5) favorite!!! He would be thrilled to ride it over and over.

Will you be there this year for Jersey Week? We'll be at the Poly from 11/1-11/9.

Thanks again to everyone for your posts.

Hello, neighbors!!!

We are going also for the first time during Jersey Week.

Hey, John, 30 minutes for a headliner ride to me is short!! We usually go May or June so we've seen lines that say 60 minutes or more (2 hrs at Test Track).

A bunch of my friends went last Jersey week and they said 30 minutes was the longest anyone saw. So, with a fast pass, we should be in and out of rides in no time.

I'm a little more worried about crowds due to Food and Wine Festival. Anyone have info on that???? Will that bring in the locals and does it only affect Epcot?

Can't wait.

We were there last year 10/21-10/29. F&W was only really crowded on Saturday. It was a nightmare trying to move a stroller through the park.

This year, I am going to try F&W on weeknights only. It is definately worth the crowds.

See you there!

deanna, we are even closer neighbors-I live in Medford!

We're going in early September since Medford's elementary schools aren't opening until September 13 due to construction. I think someday we definitely will go during Jersey week. We just bought a DVC at Saratoga Springs so we will be going to Disney on a regular basis.:hyper:

Have a great trip everybody!

Can you post on this thread if you aren't from New Jersey?:teeth:

Our last two WDW trips, in 2000 and 2003, have been during Jersey Week and we didn't think the crowds were bad.

We use FP as often as possible and our longest wait was maybe 15 or 20 minutes. Average wait was between 5 and 10 minutes.

If you're not bothered by a lot of Yankees caps and "Joisey" accents, you'll be fine;) !

Does anyone know what the park hours were for last year's Jersey Week. It is getting close to the 90 day window and I want to make my PS arrangements and want to work around the closing time of the parks.

I, too, am waiting for hours to be posted. I'm afraid we may have a wait, as I don't think October hours are posted yet. I am probably going to just make PS based on last year's hours and make changes as necessary.

I can't believe how many neighbors I have on this site! My friends think I am the only Disney junkie...they should only know how many of us are living among them.LOL!

I've never been to Disney during "Joisey Week" and I decided to back our trip up 2 weeks to go from 11/14 - 11/20. Kids do miss a week of school so maybe next year I get to see all of you during Jersey week if its not as bad as I thought it was.

:earseek:

We were there in 2003 from Oct 31st until November 12th. I was also there last August and this past July, and this so called "Jersey Week" was nothing compared to the summer crowds. Even on Halloween Night at MNSSHP there was less than 30 minute waits on rides.
The weather is MUCH better in November. The only drawback is that the parks close early.

There is always going to be people in the parks, no matter what time of year you go. We always get there early. Even in July we were at MK at 9 a.m. and walked onto Splash Mountain, Peter Pan, Pirates, and Jungle Cruise with no wait at all. THen around 11 a.m., the park is mobbed.

With Fast Pass you can do everything you want to do!:teeth:
