Day 6 - November 3

Today was a non-park day. We had a list of things we wanted to try and do, though we knew we couldn't possibly hit all of them. A week just isn't long enough in Disney. I certainly understand why some folks go for 2-3 weeks. Wish we could.

We started at the Poly to rent boats. But I thought they opened at 9, turns out it was 10. So we hopped the monorail over to Contemp to browse their shops, then came back to Poly. DD and I took 1 Sea Raycer and DW took another. Had a great time zipping through the waterways.

By then, we were getting hungry so we drove over to Beach Club for lunch at Beaches and Cream - yum!

I was really tired so we went back to the condo. I watched some tv and fell asleep for a while. DW took DD to the pool while I was resting.

About 3:30, went to the Village to shop. Bought a Mickey lamp at At Home and a few other things. Then headed to Premium Outlets for dinner and shopping at the Disney outlet where we picked up a few more things.

Since it opened a couple of years ago, I've been wanting to see the Gaylord Palms. We finally had the chance today. For those of you not familiar with it, its that huge hotel and convention center you see across I-4 from Disney. Paid $7 to park just to visit the hotel. But it was well worth it. The atrium lobby is absolutely incredible. It is made to look like you are walking through the Everglades, in one section, and Key West in another. The detail is fantastic. Sorry to say, but way better than any of the Disney hotels. I guess we spent well over an hour exploring the lobby and atrium and taking pictures, just to give you an idea of its size.

That did it for the nite and we headed back to wind down.

Back to EPCOT tomorrow.

Thanks for the info on the Gaylord Palms. We are staying part of the time there at Christmas. At first I was somewhat disappointed, but the more I see/read about it, I'm now looking forward to it.

I could nap some days too .......thanks for your report
