Jersey Shore - Bomber Planes????

I live in Central Jersey on the shore, and all day, there were MAJOR fighter planes flying around. I'm not talking about those cropdusting planes, I mean these suckers looked like the WWI dog fighter planes!! Up and down the coast they were going. Anyone else see them? Know what it was about??

I heard something driving home today that there was some sort of russian spy(?) plane, boat or something off the coast of Ocean City. I bet that had something to do with it. Check out www.wpvi.com they usually have all the news on jersey shore.

Ok, I live smack in the middle of monmouth county and earlier this evening I was driving dd to a friends house and saw about 100 swat team members in full gear by the police station. Nobody here seems to know anything.
BTW, I am nowhere near Khadafi is setting up camp.

strange. theres been military (yes I can identify one) choppers all over the sky here. I counted 4 when we were on the playground (under two hours). Theres been lots of sirens too.

Doubt that's one of ours. When leaving port or heading into port, ours are always escorted by 2 USCG cutters. They'll be side by side with the sub in the middle. I see it quite a bit over here with Bangor so close. There has been talk for the last week or so that the Russians have been hanging our off our coast for some unknown reason.

I live about 15 minutes from the FAA Technical Center here in southern NJ and we always have some fighter type jets out and about. This definitely sounds different though, and I didn't notice them here.

Can anybody explain how to actually spell Khadaffi? Gaddafi? Whatever his name is! I've seen it a bunch of different ways.

Just watched NBC news(NY) and there were WWII fighter planes flying over NJ-they landed somewhere and people could come and check them out.
I'm not sure where they landed, I wasn't really paying attention. but they showed them on the tarmac with people all milling about and lined up to go inside of them.

That would explain a lot. I know I got the fright of my life Saturday when a stealth bomber flew over our park! I'm not too far from Whiteman and I'm sure they were just doing some kind of training thing. When I lived in Jeff City they would do fly-overs for special events like the Fourth of July. It's a bit intimidating when you're not expecting it though. I've gotten too used to a park with restricted air space (Disney).

Umm, WW1 planes were little more than open cockpit powered kites. Think snoopy vs the Red baron!

I guess that could explain it - other than the fact that they were just going back and forth, back and forth over the coast. I don't know, just made me nervous - ya never know now a days. Maybe I should call my uncle - hes in the FBI......

I wondered what that was. I had one fly right over my house yesterday and they were flying pretty low too.
