Anyone watch it? I didn't really watch, just kept going to it when Teen Mom was on commercial break. I only tuned in b/c a girl I went to HS with cheered for them as did my 2 neighbors (one who is still on the team).
What did you think?

I watched too when teen mom was on commercial break. LOL

I liked it and thought the coach was awesome.

I saw most of it (flipping between that and house hunters). I did not care for the coach calling them b#itches. She wasn't saying you are a b& but how some people would say go get 'em tiger, she used the B word. I wasn't too fond of that.

I missed the episode but I am dying to see it. They were filming this at my daughter's first competition of the year which was the UCA qualifier (I think this may have been shown on this episode). We saw the camera crew following them and they were filming the team on the grass outside the venue at the end.

Is this focusing on only theirl level 5 team or the gym as a whole? I was hoping it would be all of the levels because our level 3 team beat them at that competition and I wanted to see if our gym would get any air time :rotfl:

Missed it. When is it on?

One of my neighbors daughter was at the UCA qualifiers that they were filming as well. My DD11 wants to see it, she wants to join either the Comets or Evolution All-Stars next year in their half-year team since she cheers for our town rec competition team.

I didn't hear anything about this show ahead of time, just Kelly Ripa talking about it on Regis and Kelly today (the day after air). She and her husband produced it. I am very curious how accurately it showcases Cheer and comps. My daughter and I just returned from USA HS Nationals in SoCal happy to have finished 5th (it's nearly impossible to beat the Cal teams, especially in Cali!) I don't think I will think very highly of a coach that refers to her team as b****es. I know our coaches wouldn't either. For us, it's been about presenting as 'clean' and friendly an image as possible for years and we've been state champs and/or finishing in the top three for the last ten years. I realize high school cheer is different than All Stars, but still, I can't imagine the All stars coach and gym we train with would do that either. Kids these days just think b**** is a female reference, thanks to the rappers, but I think it's just one of the issues contributing to the degradation of human (and feminist) rights in our society. :maleficen

Anybody know if it will air again? I can't find any info on LifetimeTV.com nor Google. popcorn::

Watched the show last night. I actually found it by mistake. I thought it was pretty good, although I was little upset with the coach calling them Bit*** too. However, considering the ages of the girls, I don't necessarily think it's the first time they've heard that term. ;) My daughter did All Star cheerleading for a few years (although at a more junior level). I can't imagine the work they put in. They mentioned 3 nights a week, 3 hours a night for practice. Don't know how those girls maintain their grades and put in that type of cheer schedule. Apparently that's quite a common schedule.

I did like the way she told the kids and the parents that she expected appropriate behavior from them whether the girls won or not. Sportsmanship should be a top priority.

I'll definitely be watching it again, if I can remember that it's on.

Yeah the whole cursing this was beyond me. I was a little upset when the coach said something about "put some color into your routine" and then she went on to say if you don't have it get from another girl on the team and the camera zoomed into the African American girls who were all like...what?

When the girl I went to HS cheered with them I remember we would go shopping at the mall, go to Hagen Daz after and then she would say things like "Can't eat that during competition season, I get weighed in tomorrow" and me and my other girlfriend would look at each other like....what? They really weigh you in weekly? Creating a healthy body image there, huh :confused3. And then I also remember my friend saying at practices she would have to slap her thighs so hard they would turn black and blue. I just thought it was the oddest thing, why would girls do this? I understand healthy competition and cheering because you enjoy it and its fun, but this sounded like torture to me. And on the show the one girl was saying "if so and so messes this up I might not be able to forgive her". Team player right there lol.

We watched it, enjoyed it. My daughter cheers for World Cup so we get the whole "jersey" style of coaching. I hope they bring it on as a series. I cried when the younger girl, Kriselle, was still upset about falling during Worlds last year. I hope they do great this year!

3 hours a night 3 times week is a typical schedule. My dd is 8, Level 3 (the team show was level 5) and practices almost the same amount of time, but the 3rd night is only 1.5 hours instead of 3. The kids are just really disciplined and most all of them are on honor roll and top notch students.

World Cup is an amazing program, saw you guys at our last competition. We are in NY, so I'm guessing the Jersey style of coaching filters across the entire tri state area, since it didn't phase me at all ;)
