Jerky Rides

Hi there...I started a thread about rides that use bars over the shoulders. I was thinking those were the kind of rides that prevented neck movement. However, some who answered made me realize that not all jerky rides have bars over the shoulder.

So, I'm trying again. Is there a list of rides that cause a lot of neck movement, mainly jerky movements. My wife has a bone spur in her neck so she's afraid of rides that could give a little whip lash. We want to avoid for those for our upcoming trip. Thanks in advance for your help!

@slyster - As @yulilin3 has noted above, Kilimanjaro Safari can jolt you around and they have a sign up warning of ill effects.

I am an older individual with back issues that prevent me from getting on all of the rides mentioned, except the safari ride. When I line up for the safari, I ask to wait for a front area seat - first 2 rows are fine for me. I've sat as far back as the 4th row and been okay, but once I'm in the 3rd row on back I'm always anxious that I'll be hurting on exit. My first Safari ride was at opening in April of 1998, so I've got lots of experience with this ride and it was definitely bumpier early on.

My disc problem pretty much excludes me from any ride that makes a 'sudden' move. Rides with drops as well as roller coasters, although most able bodied persons would not expect that someone who can walk for miles in the parks at nearly 70 years would have such acute problems. But, I've still found plenty to entertain me at WDW and can't wait for it to get back to some kind of normal after the current situation has passed on by.

So far the front 2 rows have presented little problem and I can ride and not worry. I have never been refused a front area seat although I've had to stand aside for a minute or two at times, but not for any extended time as this is a fairly fast loading ride and of course the cast members are awesome.

Thanks for sharing your personal experience. I appreciate that. I’ll be honest I don’t know what all the acronyms are but I’ll figure it out. I have saved this thread for future reference!

I would add 7DMT to the MK list. There is one moment after the initial hill when the ride brakes suddenly and it's a bit jolting.

Sorry, that was me. The ride train moves so slow that I sometimes get out and give it a push.

;)

I would add IASW only because it seems the boats always hit each other very hard near the exit. For someone with neck issues, it would not be a good thing.

Is there a place to get a list of all the acronyms here?

You could and should read the welcome thread which has this. But since there are a lot of new people who may be looking at this and not want to grab a pen and paper, I will translate briefly:

At Magic Kingdom (Mk): Space Mountain (SM), Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (BTMR), (Goofy's) Barnstormer. I would add to this list Seven Dwarves Mine Train (7DMT), Tomorrowland Speedway (SPDWY)

Epcot: Test Track (TT)

Disney Hollywood Studios (DHS): Rocken' RollerCoaster (RnRC), Star Tours (ST), Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run (MFSR), Alien Swirling Saucers (AS2), Mickey and Minnie's runaway railway (MMRR)

Animal Kingdom (AK): (Dinosaur*), Kilimanjaro Safaris (KS). I would ad Expedition Everest (EE) just because it is a roller coaster, and Kali River Rapids (KRR)

I will add that of the bunch, I would put a *** star against Dinosaur. That thing will beat up a healthy human.

Ha! That always happens to us. We're sitting there looking at the different languages and then suddenly BAM!
