Hey Jen...sorry for ignoring your journal lately. I feel like we talk so much off of the DIS that I don't have to post...but then I don't want you falling to page 2 either! ;)

I know you had a rough week with leaving your kids, but enjoy this week. Take a DEEP BREATH and just chill out!

We had a great time with ya this weekend...and the kiddies are already asking when Jen is coming back!

Marie-The kids are really sweet and i miss them like crazy, but its great having today off!! I had a blast at Kims house , as usual!!!!

Im working on relaxing, you know its hard for me hahaha..

Well i just got back from the doctors and they drive me :furious:
The doctor told me that everything looks good and he was about to send me out the door. I stopped him and told him that i wasnt feeling good and felt as my levels were low...He told me it couldnt be because of my thyroid and it HAD to be something else.
While that is a possibility, i can tell when i have problems with my levels, and this is one of those times...Im a "strange" case since i started having thyroid problems when i was 8, so my body doesnt quite do everything 'by the book'...so thats my vent for the day..

Today is another day of trying to watch what i eat--get my water in--exercise....Im already done 1 bottle of water, had cereal for breakfast..not sure whats going on for lunch and dinner...
 
Hang in there,Jen!! Dumb Doctors!! Most just don't understand that we know our own bodies. Keep on pushing them!!

Glad the last day of school is over - it's SO hard emotionally!

Well guys--i did my exercise today!! i need to get back into this so i am starting right..
I did 1 mile jogging/walking on the treadmill--it took me 20 minutes by i was dying...i havent pushed myself that hard in awhile. I wanted to stop so many times, but i pushed myself.
I did a couple other exercises as well,,i have a feeling ill be sore tomorrow ,but im going to try to do it again tomorrow..

For the next week or so, i am thinking about starting small so i dont hurt myself ..
i am thinking :
Today-1 mile plus other exercises
Thursday- 1/2 mile plus other exercises
Friday-1 mile plus other exercises
Saturday-1/2 mile plus others...
Sunday-1 mile plus other...

THen by then, hopefully i can see if i can switch it up a bit..i KNOW it doesnt seem like much, but every other time i have started off pushing myself like crazy, and ended up hurting myself..does this seem totally pointless?

i got 80 ounces of water in today, although i did have a small ice cream..i tried so hard not to eat it, but dad brought it home for me. Tomrorow, i will try to have 90 ounces of water.

Tomorrows plan is a little hectic..i have to take my car in for some warranty work, have a hair appointment, need to pick up a bday card, go to the bank , and go to work..then get some exercise in!

You're a RUNNER!! :moped: I don't know if running every day is a good idea. Like you said, when you start out too hard, you may get burned out. I know you think you're not doing much because you're doing 1/2 mile or 1 mile...but you ARE!! You're getting your heart rate up, and you're giving yourself a total body workout when you're running.

Maybe skip the 1/2 mile days on the treadmill and stick to 1 mile every other day for a little while. You can do your other exercises on the inbetween days...and make sure to take rest days too.

YOU GO GIRLIE!!

thanks buddy--maybe ill skip the 1/2 mile days..i was just afraid i wouldnt be doing enough--good idea!

On to drinking more water.....
 
Great job on the treadmill, Jen! I am impressed with your plan. I want you to be careful with the water, though, as you may be drinking too much for your weight. I have always heard you should drink the greater of 1/2 your body weight in ounces or 64 oz. Sounds like you may be drinking too much and that can cause serious health issues, I think related to electrolyte balance. As a matter of fact there are all sorts of reports out there about children literally OD'ing on water, especially in the summer.

So, not that I'm being a mom or anything, . . . but please be careful, sweetie!

So, what is your schedule like these days? Classes? I know you said you don't go back to work for a week, and I hope you are making good use of your time to relax. :hug:

Hi Cam-
I never even though about drinking too much water, because ive been really thirsty. Ill have to try to slow down..

I dont start classes til wednesday..but when i do...

Monday and Wednesday-i am in class from 925-3..
Friday 8-130
Tuesday-observing in a class
Thursday-off..

Its going to be a LONG semester

I know that this semester sounds like a busy one, but just think..... next semester, you'll be student teaching! :yay: For me, student teaching was a lot of work, but it was so much fun and it got me that much closer to being a real classroom teacher. Thank you SO much for your support..I dont know what i would do without my WISH Friends!

Tomorrow i am going to do another mile on the treadmill..I am a little sore today so i am not going to push too hard..if i end up walking the whole thing , thats fine with me, as long as i finish it..im not going to force myself for time yet, just to get things done!

I did do about 10 minutes of walking and some other exercises today, just to keep moving..i want to get in the habit of making exercise a part of the day for when classes start again, i wont be making excuses.

I honestly cant believe that im up to 157 pounds..it seems like last year i was so close to 140 and its kind of sad to think of how much i gained..but thats just enough to get me back on track!
 
Hi everyone-
ive been doing pretty well with my working out..i took yesterday off as i was really sore and need a day off once in awhile ! I will be doing my exercises and going on the treadmill today..

I start my classes on wednesday and am not looking forward to it..We got an email Friday that the class i need to graduate is being cancelled, due to a medical emergency of the professor..While i understand things come up, they need to get us another professor, or we dont graduate ! so it has been a crazy couple of days and classes start tomorrow so i hope we get some answers! I have a feeling if they dont work this out, many students and parents (since alot of them are paying tuition!) are going to be in the offices and are not going to be happy.. im pretty worried!

Hey, Jen. I know I've talked to you off-DIS about this, but stay positive. With that many people needing to take this class to graduate...the school will HAVE to do something. Try to not stress...and have a GREAT semester!! We all know you'll do WONDERFULLY!! :cheer2:
 
Thanks Tracy and Kim--I know it sounds so stupid to be worried about this..but its kind of like, i came this far and now its like a huge barrier..
Im already petrified of this semester..i am honestly so scared about tomorrow..I know i have to do it, and im sure it will be okay...and i dont know why im worried about one of my last semesters..i guess with this stupid art class and now the uncertainty with my education class, im petrified!

Thanks for letting me vent guys..i guess im just really scared..and NO email from Rowan yet..they need to make a decision--i dont want to go in friday morning with no clue of what is going oon.

Other than that, ive done pretty good on my working out--i feel happy with what i can do, although it is not much. With my surgeries, i get tired and out of breath very quickly when i work out..so i am trying to push myself to do a mile and its hard..but im figuring i will do what i can and its better than nothing..

I just wanted to post an update. The school emailed me around 4 saying that they rescheduled the class that was supposed to be Friday 8am-1040, to Thursday night 445-715.
Im glad that it is rescheduled, as opposed to being cancelled, but ikm not happy with the new time. Thursday i was planning on working all day, and instead ill be driving 45 min in rush hour traffic there...at least the drive back wont be too bad.

I guess its just driving me crazy thatbeing a senior, they still do nothing to help us...they are always doing something to drive us nuts--and its not just me saying that--this school is so disorganized and i am petrified starting tomorrow..i have classes 925-3, so i should be home by 4..i dont know if ill be getting any big breaks (sometimes, first d ay, we just review the syllabus and leave) so im bringing my computer--may post from there
