I'm in the midst of losing 10 lbs doing Nutrisystem. Over the last couple of weeks, several folks have posted about Jenny Craig food tasting good. For those of you who have used Jenny Craig, could you answer some questions?

Do they ship it to you?
Is it frozen? Or shelf-stable?
Do you supplement it with your own fruits/veggies?
What did you think of the taste? What were your favorite foods?

Thanks!

Do they ship it to you? It depends on if you are going to the site or if you are doing at home. If you are doing at home it is shipped to you.
Is it frozen? Or shelf-stable? Depends on the menu you choose. I started with shelf stable only and quickly realized that I was not going to make it without the frozen.
Do you supplement it with your own fruits/veggies? Yes, and several other things as well but I don't remember
What did you think of the taste? What were your favorite foods? My favorites were the frozen foods. The taste was pretty good on most dishes, but some of the shelf stable stuff made me gag. I think they switch the menu up fairly regularly though.

I hope that helps. I ended up not losing the weight with Jenny Craig because I had a series of bad counselors who got on me because I was not losing weight. I was losing serious inches though but that didn't matter they wanted to see me lose pounds and the scale was not reflecting my success. I was on the over the phone program. If I had been able to have a counselor who was not degrading because I was not losing weight I would have stuck with it. The pounds did eventually come off but they quit getting my money.

I wish you the best of luck!!!!!

i picked it up at the store-some was frozen, some was non. by and large with the exception of the dried soups and dried drinks (think slimfast meal replacement drinks) they were quite tasty.

the issue i had with jenny craig was despite offering 'classes' on nutrition, unless your center had enuf participants and a well motivated staff-you learned very little to move from the jenny craig meals into creating your own.
the videos that were sold along with the full packages were in my opinion-idiotic (it was a seinfeld like female comic in a sit-commy instructional show).

the prepackaged meals do carry the need to purchase other items to fill them out. there is the need to purchase veggies and such to fill out the lunches-and depending on what dinners you select-some warmed veggies and grains.

you can actualy NOT join jenny craig and purchase the foods for about 10% more than members pay (at least that's how it worked when i was a member). but honestly-if you just look at the calorie content of a jenny craig or a nutrisystem meal-you can determine a balanced daily diet and purchase equivilent complete frozen meals for around 50% less at the store (many of the jennny craig full meals have more calories and less dietary fiber than lean cuisine or weight watchers meals).

I participated in JC about 15 years ago when we lived in Birmingham, AL. I did fine till I started trying to "go it on my own". As long as they had it portioned and ready for me I was fine, when I had to do it myself I failed miserably. I wish you luck with it. As previous posters mentioned, you get very little encouragement and advice from their "councillors"

Thanks you guys. I'm doing Nutrisystem. I've decided their cereal is much like the cereal I can buy in the store, ditto with soups at lunch. Barkley, you have a point, I could do Lean Cuisine for supper. I do like Nutrisystem snacks. Not that they're incredibly tasty, but they are much fewer calories/fat than when left to my own devices. I buy yummy (read hi fat and cal) snacks for dd's and dh. At 9 pm the Fritos start their siren song to me....
