I'm pretty new to these boards and I've really enjoyed browsing through everybody's planning journals and figured it was about time I started my own!!

My DF and I are both horse trainers and we met online almost 2 years ago on a dating site for horse people! He lived in Chicago and I lived in Texas. After we had been emailing back and forth and talking on the phone a few times, I flew up to Chicago for a week to meet him!! Soon after we met in person, I knew he was the one. Last September he made the big move to Texas and we have been busy getting our horse business started ever since.

We were engaged June 17, 2011. Martin recreated our first "date" in downtown Chicago. We were going up there to visit his family and he surprised me by saying we were going to take the train downtown first. We stayed at the same hotel, ate at the same fabulous pizza place:) and went to the same piano bar. It was really magical and was a great reminder where it all started! The next morning he took me to a nature preserve in his hometown and we hiked up a hill and he proposed there. It was so exciting!

I grew up with Disney. My family would go on vacations there about every other year since the time I was 4 years old! I've seen every animated Disney movie and have always dreamed of having my wedding at Disney. However, I was so afraid the costs were going to be way too high but after doing a little research on the cost of doing a wedding in my hometown, I looked into Disney and realized it was doable!

My DF, little sister (also maid of honor), mom and I are going for a site visit in a few weeks. We will be staying at Wilderness Lodge (a first for us!) and I'm so thrilled to get started planning everything!

I went dress shopping this week and found THE DRESS!! Will post more soon :-)

My family is big into horses, so it's awesome to hear you both are trainers! Look forward to reading more soon!

Congratulations! Can't wait to read more! Welcome to the addictive PJ world lol

Can't wait to keep reading!

You'll LOVE the Wilderness Lodge! It's a great hotel and the boat ride to the Magic Kingdom is awesome. Make sure you book a meal at Artist Point if you have the time/budget for it.... that's my fave restaurant in the "World".

I'm guessing as you're horse trainers you'll be wanting Cinderella's Coach??

It's been a while since I posted but as we attended our planning session last week I have a lot more information now:)

Date: May 5, 2012
Ceremony: Wedding Pavilion 5pm
Pre-Reception: Whitehall Room & Patio 6pm-7pm
Reception: St. Augustine Room at the Grand Floridian 7pm-11pm

We also have a welcome dinner Friday evening at Sea Breeze Pointe!

So, my colors are navy and gold. My dress is ivory but definitely has a light gold sort of feel to it. My bridesmaid dresses are navy. Linens are white with a navy overlay. Gold charger plates with a beautiful sparkly gold napkin.

I will be arriving to the ceremony in the landau coach which I'm really excited about!! We are using David & Vicki Arndt for our photography. They took engagement photos of us last week and they were great to work with! We had a super time! I think I have the officiant and DJ lined up so now it's time to figure out the videographer, hair and makeup etc.... So much to do!

Pictures to come!

Hi! I almost went with navy and silver for my colors...but my best friend ended up using them first. :rotfl: So I chose fern and orange since ours will be next fall.

My fiance and I also met online. :)

so the similarities between you and I are interesting. My DF and I actually met on the boards here. He is from chicago and I am from Austin, TX. We met at Disney on our own separate solo vacations and then he came to austin to visit me. He is moving down here and we are also getting married! Check out my PJ for all the story details and all that fun stuff. Your plan sounds great so far. Welcome to the boards and feel free to share with us. If you are on FB we have a disbrides group let me know how to find you and I will add you to it! It is quite fun there.

I look forward to hearing more. where in texas are you?

Teresa
