Obviously, since we're getting married in Disney, everything inthe basket will be about the area and different things that we will have planned for our guests. I thought it would be a great idea to have a private fireworks display/dessert party one night, kind of as a "Welcome Party".
Some ideas for fillers:
*Bottle(s) of water
*Snacks/Gum/Mints
*Map of the Area/List of Things to Do/Attractions
*Itinerary for the weekend (or days before and day of the wedding)
*Souvenir/Food/Magnet related to where you are getting married (city they are visiting)
*Welcome note from bride and groom
*snacks such as cookies, chips etc in the snack size bags, mini waters
*disposable camera
*chocolate with name/date on them
*quarters
*min bottles of bubble bath
*votive candles
*Itinerary of things to do
More helpful info for OOT baskets:
If you can find some cheap, maybe slippers or eye covers for help sleeping. Perhaps an aroma therapy candle (you can get votives at Wal-Mart for like 57 cents or something).
Snacks like trail mix, fresh fruit, cookies, veggies - anything they don't have to go out for is probably going to be very appreciated.
And a map of the area. Give them an overview of how to get places from their hotel. You can include little notes (this place has wonderful pizza, or watch out for their hot wings - they've earned their name!) This can be included with the coupons. Guests who have no clue where they're at will definitely love it.
Anything wedding/site related. If you have a butterfly themed wedding, find something cute with butterflies. Or, if you're wedding is a garden theme - give them a packet of seeds with a little note. It could be seen as a second favor if you will. Or, if your wedding is in a big city (Chicago, LA, NYC, Atlanta etc) go get some cheesy tourist thing and include it in the bag.
