:teeth: Hey guys!
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place!

I was just wondering about Jellyrolls. I have never been and am curious what its like, I looked online but didnt find much.

Is this something you want reservations for?

Is there a charge at the door?

Is there a schedule or same thing every night?

Is there dining or just dancing?

Live music?

( do you need to be a good dancer? !!! )

From what I have read it looks like a good time. We are not really "clubbing" people....is it more upscale than a nightclub?

And lastly , do they do anything during the day or just at night?

Thanks in advance !

( sorry so many questions...hard to imagine there could be anything I dont have memorized about WDW yet!!! )

Jenn

Jeyyroll's is a piano bar located on the BW across from Atlantic Dance.

There are 2 pianos and usually two pairs of pianists who rotate their sets each night- each pair playing about an hour at a time. They depend on requests from the audience for most of the songs and can play about anything. There is usually a cover charge.

There is no dance floor per say, as this is more of a sing-a-long atmosphere. There is no menu, but popcorn and nachos may be ordered along with your beverage of choice! ;)

The place is a lot of fun. The music is excellent amn the lively attitude of the audience certainly plays an important part of the evening. There is a schedule which can be found at www.thepianomen.com (although I just looked and the site is being updated right now).

Keep in mind that this is a bar, no one under 21 may go in (unlike other venues at WDW). The place opens at 7pm I think, and gets more hopping as the evening wears on. It's certainly worth spending a few hours just for the music and a soft-drink!

Enjoy!

Awesome,

Sounds like my kinda place!

Thanks for the quick reply!

Are they open late enough to go over after the epcot fireworks???

Definately trying it out !

Just to add to, and clarify a couple of things on what Doc said:

There is an $8 cover charge (and it's worth every penny in my opinion).

The doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the pianos start at 8:00. Last call for alcohol is at 1:30, and the entertainment ends at 1:45.

The piano players have an amazingly large variety of songs that they know. If you want to hear something specific, write it down on a napkin, add a couple of dollars, and put it on a piano. The songs range everywhere from Billy Joel and Elton John to Bobby Darin and the Beach Boys, to Coldplay and Maroon 5. It really depends on what the crowd requests.

You can definitely go to the fireworks, and then head over. But if you want to ensure a table down front, you may want to head over before 9:00. Things usually pick up after the fireworks (a lot of people have that same idea as you).

Food is not served, except for the aforementioned popcorn, which is complementary. Nachos are not available.

The www.thepianomen.com site is being updated, but if you click on Jellyrolls, it does bring you to the schedule (it's usually up to date, but not always).

As Doc said, it is 21 plus, so no kids allowed. You should also know that smoking is allowed. In all my years of going there, the smoke has only bothered me a couple of times.

I highly recommend trying to catch Scotty and Ray (they are two of the three guys in my signature picture). They are fanastic!

If you have any more questions, let me know.

T,

Thanks for the Tips!

Boston.....I am seeing Dave Matthews band at Fenway both nights!!!!

My DH and I love Jellyrolls, and always make it a point to spend an evening there. Totally sing our heads off.

I laughed, though, when I saw the recommendation to see Scotty and Ray. We find that we get attached to whoever is singing, and when the new guys come out (they take turns), we think that we'll miss the other guys but then the new guys are great, too! (My secret fantasy is to retire at WDW as one of the Jellyrolls piano players...they let girls do it, too, don't they?;))

Anyway, I think you'll have a great time there. Don't be shy about requesting songs you'd like to hear.

They do charge $8 or $9. And there is no DVC discount which I found a bit disappointing.

I think it depends on the crowd that's there. I didn't go in last month when I was at the Boardwalk because I didn't see alot of people going in and even the guy at the door said it was slow.
I did go a couple of years ago and it was crowded and everyone in that entire place was singing and drinking and just having a jolly time.

It's the happiest place on earth!!!

The cover is $8- but well worth it! All the pianomen are great and everyone has their favorites.... I love Pete and Michael! People dance off to the sides and they have group sing-alongs and dance-alongs too. I love doing the Time Warp and The Green Grass Grows All Around! It can be a very addicting place!!! Tuesday night is always packed and fun because a lot of the Cast Members go that night.

I'll be there the end of August with a great group of friends.
I'm so excited!!!

We were in Disney back in May and also stayed at Universal. While in Universal we went to Pat O'Brien's on City Walk and they also had the dueling pianos. It was great! Another couple we were with went to Jellyrolls and said they like it alot more than Pat O'Briens. Has anyone been to both and what do you think???
My DH and I are coming down for our first trip home in Sept. at the BWV and will definitely be going to Jellyrolls!! :cool1:

Great memories of Jellyrolls. Can't wait to go back in October, been twice already. Good entertainment and humor. Seeing them do 'Baby got Back' on the piano definitely had us laughing.

I've not been to Pat O'briens, but I've been to another piano bar (the one in NY NY hotel in Vegas). I think the thing about Jellyrolls that I liked more was the humor and dialogue between the pianists. The one at NY NY is more just a bar with music.

This is a good night out. Try to meet other DISER there as me and DW did this makes it that much more fun. :thumbsup2

Jellyrolls is also located in Atlanta, I don't think they are a Disney entity, maybe the reason there isn't a DVC discount but.....it is worth every penny.

Definitely, meeting other DISers is ALOT of fun - some of the people posting on this thread I've met one way or another thru Jellyrolls...

Have a great time!!!

My now-DH and I first went back in 2004 and loved it enough to go back on our honeymoon last September.

It's always a great night -- and there'll be plenty of sing-a-longs and dancing!

We were the only ones from Canada that night and were proud to be able to "represent" and know all the words to a Barenaked Ladies song.

I imagine this will be one of those places on our "must do" list each visit (well...until there are kids, and then we'll have to start bringing down my parents to babysit!).
