DH, DD, and I are driving down to WDW in a few weeks. We are planning on saving some $$ by packing our own lunches to eat. Becasue of the temperatures in FL :sunny: we are trying to come up with things to eat that will not go bad if they get warm. I am thinking of PBJ sandwiches. Jelly is something that says refridgerate after opening. However, McDonald's gives out Jelly packets (similar to thier Ketchup packets). Has anyone seen these in the stores anywhere so that I can buy them and just open the jelly as needed? Thanks!

There was a post a few months ago that mentioned a site called Minimus.biz . The site sells sample and food service-size individual packets of just about anything. They do sell Smuckers and Kraft jelly for 15¢-16¢ each and they offer free shipping on orders over $20. I've never ordered from them, so I cannot vouch for their service.

I have never tried this personally but I'm guessing if you leave a jar un-refridgerated for only a few days it wont go bad especially if you maybe leave it on/near the airconditioner (???) or just pop the jar in an ice bucket with some ice.
but I'm sure places like Sam's or Costco (warehouse clubs) would sell the jelly packets in a bulk size box tho.

Sames does carry jelly packets...I've only seen the square box kind...something like 500 to a box. Im not sure of the price.

I already looked at Sam's with no luck

Does the resorts have jelly packs in the food court?

Yes, to put on the toast or bagels that you buy from them, not to add to your brown bag lunch.

The Smuckers site itself sells boxes of packets of jelly and even peanut butter. Or at least it used to. Some grocery stores also sell packages of about 12-18 packets. You might even ask the manager of McDonalds or Cracker Barrel if they will sell any to you. Since most of them charge for "extras" I don't see why they couldn't sell you some.

Minimus is a great resource-individual cereal, condiments, all kinds of things..not just for Disney but lots of uses at home, work etc. I have ordered from them quite a few times-and their service is excellent!!! I highly recommend them.

How about trying a resturant supply co. ? Have you ever heard of Gordon Food Service? I bet they would have them. hope this helps :confused3

What about the peanut butter/jelly in one jar stuff - I can't remember what it's called - but it may not need to be refrigerated. It might be better than having 400 + jelly packets after your trip. Unless of course if you find smaller quantities you wouldn't have to worry about it.

It seems like it might be easier just to eat a couple of B'fast at McD or any meal at Cracker Barrel offers jelly for any meal. If it's just you and DH, do you really need a 100's of packets of jelly? Just pack in your doggie bag. I am not saying just go in and start clearing tables off, but as long as you are paying customers, I don't see anything wrong with taking the couple that they place at your table.

I agree, if you are out for breakfast, just take the few that they give you with your breakfast. If you do buy the individual packets, keep in mind that there are way more grape jelly than the other flavors in those big boxes of individuals. I used to be in the restaurant business, and I remember this! Also, at 12 cents or more per serving, it is not at all cost effective. You would be better off to buy the smallest jar that you can, and throw it away if it spoils. Personally this is what I would do, because it will not spoil in 2 days anyway.Put it in a small soft sided cooler with a square ice pack, and you will be fine.I have done this on camping trips with no problem at all. :flower:

I took some from the food court at POP and went through with my tray, asked how much, and they charged me .05 each, I got 20 of them and then got 20% off with the DDE card.

Now that is a good deal! And it sounds much easier than carrying it from home too, where you take the chance of those little jelly packets opening up in your suitcase, yuk! :goodvibes

I have just spent the last hour on this website and I just LOVE it. I ordered something for a friend and had it shipped to her. The free shipping for orders over $20 is a good deal too.

Thanks!
