I was soooo excited to see JELLO Pudding Pops in the store today!

I haven't seen them in years.

Well, guess what? They taste nothing like they used to in the 80's. :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: I'm so disappointed.

Isn't that sad? I bought them about a year ago here and was so disappointed. I loved them as a kid.

Yeah, I was really excited to see them return a while back.

I noticed that they didn't taste quite right -- did some research and it turns out that the ingredients are exactly the same, but the manufacturer is different, and so is the manufacturing process. I think it has something to do with how they are frozen -- if you notice, the new pudding pops don't have that hard "skin" or "shell" that the old ones did. I don't know why, but there was something about the shell that was important to the overall experience!

Why, why, why do they always have to change a good thing?! :confused3

I agree that they're not the same (yet I still keep a box in the freezer at all times.).

Lol ... I think the old "puddin pop" factory probably didn't exist any more so they had to change!

I did see one person online who suggested that you open up the pudding pop wrappers and let them sit in yoru freezer for a while (not sure how long) and get stale! They said that would replicate the texture of the originals...

Huh. That's right they had a shell. And they should bring back the original shape, too, it was so much better.

I had to sample one in each flavor :goodvibes and the chocolate ones tasted just like fudgecicles. I love fudgecicles, but they don't even compare to the old chocolate pudding pop.

Such a waste of calories. :)

You're right!!! I knew they were different, but hadn't put that two and two together!!

Pudding pops, RIP!!

Really? I thought they tasted exactly the same! I wish they were the same size as they used to be, though; I don't like the "single popsicle" style they are in now. Plus I could only find an assortment box when I just wanted chocolate.

IT's possible they taste the same. I don't think they do, but it's possible.

But they're totally missing the shell on the outside, and they definitely need the old shape back. I'll eat the rest of the box of the Pudding Pops, but I won't like it!

I'm hoping Bill Cosby will fix this situation, because it's ridiculous.

;)

I agree!!! they do not taste as smooth as pudding on a stick...moer like ice cream or frozen yogurt...I miss the original too..
