Anymore out there?
"Am I pissing you off-f-f Jeff-f-f?" :lmao:

I am so excited! We are going to his show in Huntsville, AL on Sunday night! :thumbsup2 My DS13 and DD9 are going as well. They have both seen both of his DVD's and just about every clip he has on you tube. My son has an Achmed t-shirt too.
My sister and her family are coming with us and she is concerned that the kids are too young. She's afraid people are going to think we're bad parents for taking our younger one's to the show. Her youngest is 10, but looks 12ish. I told her my kids are fans of his, and I think they would enjoy it alot. She's afraid of dirty looks.

Is 9 & 10 too young for Jeff Dunham Live?

Thanks in advance for your opinoins!
marie

ps~DH & DS were having a conversation this morning about Bin Laden, except DS couldn't remember his name. DS asked DH why they couldn't find him. DH told him that he was hiding underground in the hills. DS says "What's that guys name anyway?" DD pipes up very matter of fact "ACHMED"! :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: DH and I fell out laughing!!

My DD12 and her friends love Jeff Dunham too! When they first found him on You Tube she came home and told me about this "new" comedian her friends told her about. Both DH and I laughed and laughed and told her he's been around for a loooong time. She didn't believe us until we started doing his routine without the benefit of You Tube. She then proceeded to tell my mom how her friends found this "new" comedian, until my mom pulled out a VHS tape she had from when he had an HBO special years ago.

Go and have a good time. I'm sure some people will he horrified, but overall he's really not that bad. We think he's really funny!

DD-17 and I went in Sept to see him. I laughed so hard that I almost hurt myself. He and Guitar Guy do have some risque bits but it wasn't too bad.

Achmed the Dead Terrorist and Jalepeno on a Stick.

Two of the funniest bits ever.

As for taking your kids, I have seen some stuff on youtube that was a bit racy so you may want to check it out.

My parents are VERY strict about what we can watch (I don't think they let us watch most PG-13 movies until we were 16, lol), but when I turned on an Achmed clip for my 9 and 12 year old brothers, my mom just laughed along with them. There maybe one or two bits that go over their heads, but they should be fine!

He was in a town close to us last year and we didn't know until afterwards. UGH! Now I keep a check to see if he will be back in the area.

I remember seeing him years ago on tv with Jose.

We saw him a few years ago in a comedy club in Richmond. So much fun, especially since the club only held about a hundred people and we were thisclose!

That said, the show was closed to folks under 21 due to the nature of it. When he came to DC the next year to tape his second Comedy Central show, that was also age-restricted. :confused3 Were there any restrictions when you purchased your tickets? If not, and the kids are already familiar, I'd say go and enjoy! And this is coming from a mom who didn't allow her kids to even watch PG13 movies until they were 13....

As an aside, he's got a Christmas DVD that is being released in the next week or so and a Christmas CD that I just got this week! Looking forward to seeing/hearing some new stuff.

Welcome to Walmart get your __ and get out.... Have a nice day.

Walter is one of my Faves!

I would not take a 9 and 10 year old to see Jeff Dunham. I wouldn't let them watch his acts, either. Kids are too jaded too early these days. No wonder they all start swearing like drunken sailors at such young ages. Of course if you are letting them watch him on dvd, then they've already seen his stuff, so it wouldn't matter much.

I don't let my kids watch PG 13 movies that are rated with the 13 due to foul language or sexual scenes. I know that my DD knows about sex (we've talked) and hears cuss words at school every day, but why let them think it's okay? I think it sets a bad example.

From an adult perspective, the guy is funnier than heck! Go and have fun, but leave the kids at home.

That's absolutely hilarious! :rotfl: :lmao:

Jeff doesn't do drugs, hes an alcholic. :lmao: (Love Peanut)

I can't tell you to take the kids or not, my mom let my sister and I watch anything we wanted even at an early age. Of course she was always there to explain any questions we might of had.

Thanks guys!
I know we are really looking forward to the show. I said something to my 2 nieces that are also going and they started doing Achmed & Jose impressions. DH & I talked to DD9 and explained to her that there would be some bad language and there might be some jokes that she wouldn't understand. She replied to my husband, with her hand on her hip, "just because he says bad words doesn't mean i'm going to say them!" :thumbsup2
Anyway, she'll be going. I dont' think it will scar her for life.:rolleyes1

Oh, as far as the age restriction, I looked on his website, and the website of the location where the show is and neither said anything about age. I then called the location and asked and they said there was not an age restriction, but that there was some swearing in the routine. I'll bring ear plugs just in case.

I'll update on Monday and let ya'll know how great it was!!

LOVE IT

I have a somewhat different take on this. I work for an organization that has a presenting theatre. We have an age restriction on all shows in our main series, not b/c they're dirty (we don't go beyond PG) but because adults going to such performances expect to be with other adults. Having children in the audience, even if they are totally well behaved, changes the experience.

As a presenter, I can tell you that Dunham's price has gone up A LOT.

Thanks to Heidi and a couple of DISers we are hooked.

I say take the kids...if they know his routine they are fine. You may get looks....just give em back!!

I love him... he is great! I would love to see him go through security in the Airport- his bit about it just is wayy to funny!!! :lmao:

I think he is super funny. Our 10 year old and his friends found him on You Tube and showed us. If there are no age restrictions, I would take them as long as they are well behaved! It is more of an adult experience and hearing kids screaming or seeing them running around would be a bummer.

I have heard worse on TV than what I have heard in most of his routine. Go and have fun! :woohoo:

Sa-Na-Ta A-Na.

You are doing a wonderful job raising your daughter! :thumbsup2

Same thing goes with TV. When I was a teenager (younger teenager) I LOVED 90210 and Melrose Place. I saw how the characters jumped from bed to bed to bed. I knew that that wasn't real life and people (well, most people) don't do that. Just because I watched it didn't mean that I was going to go out and do what they were doing.

As far as Jeff Dunham, I love him!!!! I'm going to see him with my DF, his brother and my future DMIL in January! I can't wait!
