Whats up with me? lol! I bought two books today and have been reading them, making notes in my notebook about different areas of the parks, what rides the kids will like, which have fast pass, etc. trying to preplan and pay as much as possible before November! I want to be organized enough to get our moneys worth and avoid the stress I know will come with going totally clueless, I cant believe how excited Iam!!!

I got the cheapskates guide to Disney and WaltDisney World with kids 2004. Is there a book you recommend?

Welcome to the DIS, and yes, I caught the planning bug very quickly from this site! I discovered it through the AllEarsNet website, and then became a planning freak. I printed out everything I read from my school's computer lab (hey, I have to get my tutition money's worth!), and had stacks and stacks of information.

While I have not read those books, I used Birnbaum's Guide and the Passporter. The passporter is interactive...it has worksheets throughout the book to plan, and also at the end there are pockets where you can record daily information and put maps, tickets, etc.

Definatley you want to be organized and have a plan, but remember to leave flex time in there...don't try and be a commander like me! :moped:

I am going nuts too! This is our 6th trip since 1998 and our 3rd since I have discovered these boards. We aren't going until October 23rd and I want to plan and buy everything now, but I can't. Otherwise, I wouldn't have anything to do for the next 9 months.

These boards are the best for information. I come to them at least 3 times a day.

I am trying to change things up for DH and I who have been there before and still give my parents and niece who have never been there an unforgettable trip.

Like the pp I too discovered this website through allears. If you haven't checked out Deb's site here's a link

we don't go till 9/30/04 but i have been planning for months

the first two trips we just went and while they were great i can't believe the stuff we missed out on so this time i am planning like crazy

i don't remember how i stumbled across these boards but i am very glad i did they make planning a trip great

I just think it's great to have these boards...we haven't been in a while and are finally going in May and can't wait! I just love to come to the boards...it's a great place to go and get excited about our upcoming trip. It's kind of an escape sometimes whether I'm having a bad day or want to get my mind of some other problem, it's like therapy coming here - it does wonders as far as lifting my mood!

As far as books go - since you seem the organizer type, you might try the Passporter Walt Disney World that Melann recommended. There is space to write in itineraries, confirmation codes, and all kinds of other things. On top of it, it is a book with a great wealth of information on all the resorts, parks, etc. etc. It is a great book!

Good luck in waiting for your trip and enjoy the antipation!!!
