Family of 5, 3 boys ages 7,5,3. We'll be at HS the week after Christmas and I'm wondering what time they will give us if we register as soon as the park opens. 8:45? 9:30? I have no idea. We plan to be waiting at the turnstile at 7:30 for the 8am opening. For that matter, if they open earlier, will signup be available before the 8am park opening? On another note, if the park opens early, will we be able to get FP for TSMM prior to the 8am official park opening?

My plan was to do the following:
7:30 at turnstiles
Grab FP to TSMM while wife takes 2 boys to signup for Jedi Training
TSMM standby (will the line be too long by now to do standby?)
Buzz & Woody M&G
VOLM
Grab FPs for RNR (2) and TOT (3)
TSMM with FP
Star Tours or wait for next FP opportunity?

Your plan sounds good. If Jedi Training is a must do for your boys definitely get them over to the sign-up area first thing with Mom while you take all of the park tickets over to get TSM FPs. Depending on the wait to sign up for JT you might all be able to hop into the stand-by line for TSM and ride it first thing. Star Tours wait times can be all over the place but it is really worth it for Star Wars fans.

You best be there at rope drop and go straight to the sign in for that early of a time. Just remember the kids have to be at the sign up too.

do you get to pick your own time or do they give you the time to'come bwck

They sign up for all of the shows that day, in order, (earliest in the day to latest in the day) from the line-up of guest kids, in order (first-come, first-served.)

But, if you are in line and they are signing for a given show when you approach the signing CM, and you prefer a LATER show, you can step out of line a bit and ask others behind you to step on up to sign ahead of you.
Keep track of which show is being signed and when the show that you prefer is starting to fill, just step back into the line and sign up your little Jedi(s.)

Actually, depending on the cast member, they will not even have you step out of line to reserve a later show. Did this back in June and we got our requested show time when we asked without having to wait. Your mileage may vary on that OP.

We did almost the same plan as the OP is wanting to do with no problem on a fairly busy day. DW went and got the TSM fastpasses and I took my DS to the JTA sign-ups and got a 1:20pm show. We then strolled over to TSM and rode it standby with a five minute wait (wait time showed 20 minutes) and then scooted across the park to grab fastpasses for RnRC and ride ToT standby.

Getting a later time really helps if you want to tour commando in the morning and ride as much as possible before the lines build. But one word of warning, all the shows are weather dependant. If there is rain in the afternoon (and in Florida, when is there NOT a threat of rain in the afternoon), they will cancel the show. Sometimes they schedule a special mett n greet with Darth Vader for all the disappointed padawans, but that is not guaranteed. We almost missed our son's show due to the rain (the very next show was cancelled), so be forewarned. But it is a really nice plan to have if it all works.

Your 3 year old will not be able to do the Jedi training as the age limit is 4-12. They do ask the kids how old they are. It does look like you plan to take 2 boys to sign up, if those are the older boys they are good to go.

Your plan sounds good! This past trip (we just got back yesterday) we were late to park opening (by like 30 minutes). DH took our daughter straight to the Jedi Training sign ups and I sent my 16 year old nephew to get fast passes for TSM. I made my way through the crowds with the two littler kids and the stroller.

We ended with up with the 3:40 Jedi Training and the 7:30 Fastpass return time for TSM. So not too bad!

The park was pretty crowded that day (it was a Saturday) but we still managed to ride everything wanted! Star Tours was never more than a 15 minute wait (stand by). Did that like three times. Along with Rock N Rollercoaster, TOT, the Jack Sparrow behind the scenes show, the car stunt show, the Osbourne Lights, met Mater, Lightning, Chip & Dale, etc.

I think your plan sounds great!

We did about the same thing last month. We got the 12:40 JTA show. I wouldn't count on a 8:30/9:00 show at all unless you are the very first ones at the turnstiles and pretty good runners.

Should add we also got there at 7:30 for the 8:00 opening, which was a compromise for my DW, I wanted to be there earlier, we were a good ten yards back from the turnstiles (about even with the ticket booths).

Getting a later time really helps if you want to tour commando in the morning and ride as much as possible before the lines build.

this is why the morning times-- especially the first few shows-- will not work for us.

11:50 on will work-- we are not THAT picky

Is this line rather long? (compared to TSM??)

Good luck getting signed up. This is the one thing that comes up every time I talk to my boys about our trip last summer and they can't wait to do it again. Very fun for the Star Wars fan.
