Jedi Training... not at rope drop advice

Hello!

My family will be coming to Hollywood Studios from a Disney Cruise. Realistically, with Disney Transfers, checking into our resort, and then getting to the park... chances are it will be much closer to late morning. From all the reading I have done, it looks like one must be at the park at rope drop to sign your child(ren) up. Would one suggest another park to start? Or, is the Jedi Experience something that could be missed without too much fanfare? (I understand everyone has different opinions, but I'm getting the impression this one is a "not to miss")

Thanks in advance!!

Good luck.
If you are not at DHS at rope drop, you'll likely not be able to get a Jedi Training spot.

Hollywood Studios is my one non-negotiable Rope Drop park for this reason. It's something I've been looking forward to signing DS up for, since I first found out about it (DH is pretty bummed that they only let kids sign up).
Since there is no FP option for it, and it does fill up fast, I'm not willing to risk arriving too late.
That said, I've obviously hyped myself up for it, and this is the first year I'll have a child who is old enough to participate. We've skipped it in past years with no problems.

If I was in your position, I would either plan a different park that day, or send DH to check in to the resort, while I took DS to DHS to sign up. Then we would either stay in the park for morning touring (and DH would meet us there) or go back to the resort for a little while before returning for our designated time.

Have you ever watched it? Maybe pull up a youtube video to help you decide whether it's something your kids would enjoy. DH even suggested the other night that DS might be too shy, but I think he'll jump at the chance to fight Darth Vader like his father before him.

I rarely buy into the hype for most experiences, but Jedi Training is a totally different story. It's totally worth everything we go through to get a spot. And if you don't arrive at RD, you likely won't get one. Some people have reported some success with later arrival, but that's so rare it's not to be relied upon.

Thanks for the advice to check out a youtube video! I just switched our arrival on the Monday to Epcot... it looks like that is a good park to arrive later at :)
