Any tips on getting signed up the first week of May with a crowd level of 4? I plan to get to HS by 8:30 and walk as fast as possible to the sign up with my 5 year old who is obsessed with Star Wars!

Only tip I ever see is be there well before rope drop and go straight to the line. And the child has to be with you. We are also going first week of May on a Crowd level 4 day. But I think we are going to go with TSM first thing and take our chances on getting Jedi Academy that day or not.

Here is some standard JTA info and should apply as long as you aren't going into the park on May the 4th (Be With You!):

If you are staying at an onsite resort, plan on going to DHS on an EMH morning and as soon as the gates open, head directly to JTA sign-ups with your child. Signing up during EMH is a hidden perk for onsite resort guests!

If you aren't staying onsite, go on a non-EMH morning and get to the gates at least 45 minutes before park opening.

Sign-ups are in the Sounds Dangerous/ABC Sound Studio building. The CM will ask your child some questions and will assign him a session which fits into your FP and Dining schedule. Your child will need to report back approximately 30 minutes before his session.

Try to sign up for a morning session. Because of the weather, JTA is often canceled in the afternoons. If the session does get canceled, a brief meet and greet with Vader and Stormtroopers will take place.

20-minute shows
9:20, 10:10, 11:00 & 11:50am, 12:35, 1:05, 1:50, 2:40, 3:25, 4:10, 4:40, 5:30, 6:20, 7:10* & 8:00pm*
*Sunday & Saturday only
Space is limited, and participants (ages 4-12) must be present to register.

Get to the gates early. Remember DHS usually opens the gate 15-20 minutes before stated opening time. Try to position yourself near the front of the crowd. Go immediately to the sign in desk. The child must be with you. You shouldn't have any problems getting in. If you are early enough you will have a chance to pick what time you want your kid to participate. Don't attempt to do any thing else or you risk not getting in or having a late time.

We are definitely not going to HS on May 4th! We will be there the 5th and it's regular hours.

Itinkso has great info. Also know your existing Fastpass and ADR plans so you can pick a workable time for you. The Jedi CMs can help you rearrange FPs if needed, but (they will probably tell you this too) do NOT move a Toy Story IV you have one. Chances of replacing that on the same day are very slim. When I went on a 5-6 level day and was at the front of the pack at opening, we were passed by many people who ran to sign ups. The first 3 shows were filled by the time I was at the front of the line, but there was lots of availability the rest of the day.

It's a great experience! If you haven't bought memory maker, you might consider it for this - they'll have a photographer who snaps away the whole time and gets quite a few pictures of each child.

Newbie here. We're heading to WDW and staying onsite from 5/12 to 5/17 for a family vacation and Star Wars Weekend w/ a 2 & 5 yo. I see that DHS has EMH on 5/13 but I also have reservations for the Star Wars Dine-in Breakfast at 8:20. Is that enough time to my son up for JTA later in the morning?

Head to the Sign-up before you go to breakfast.

Ok great. Thx. I know we won't be able to do everything during the actual Star Wars weekend so we're getting the dining experiences out of the way on 5/13 (breakfast & Jedi Mickey Dinner). JTA will be an added bonus as well as multiple Star Tours.

The Shows are about 20 miutes? Is that fairly accurate for those that have been? I just made FP selections based on being hopeful that I will get a 920 or 10:10 training show for my DS ... want to make sure my "plan " is doable ... I have TSMM later in the day so I'm hoping to can move the other FP around if need be the day of.

They are about 20 min, but keep in mind that one parent will have to report with the child 30 min prior to show time too.

Reading all these comments has me super nervous we won't get signed up! Is the location for sign up still the same. ABC Sound studio?

Yep. There was a brief day or two where they toyed with signups outside the gates and occasionally it seems like they move it when there are special events, but usually it's at the old Sounds Dangerous building.

Does morning EMH make a difference with the bum rush to JTA or is it about the same?
