Hello...I'm trying to find a good tip someone gave me on this forum but can't. I want to get my kids signed up for the Jedi Training Academy (BTW...this is our first time to DW). Anyway, someone told me that at rope drop to run towards a certain section instead of where everyone else will be going to (I guess a new attraction at HS?). I just want to make sure that we're there early for rope drop but what is the quickest way for us to get there? Also, what time can we get there to wait in line for rope drop? We're stay at Art of Animation and also need to know what time we should get on the bus (not really sure how that works and how often buses come and go)?

Any suggestions???

Thanks!!!

Mike

Sign-ups are in the Sounds Dangerous/ABC Sound Studio building. The CM will ask your child some questions and will assign him a session which fits into your FP and Dining schedule. Your child will need to report back approximately 30 minutes before his session.

If you aren't staying onsite, go on a non-EMH morning and get to the gates at least 45 minutes before park opening. Try to sign him up for a morning session. Because of the weather, JTA is often canceled in the afternoons. If the session does get canceled, a brief meet and greet with Vader and Stormtroopers will take place.

9:20, 10:10, 11:00,11:50am, 12:40, 1:20, 1:50, 2:20, 3:40, 4:10, 4:40, 5:30, 6:20, 7:10 & [8:00pm(Sun, Wed, Fri, Sat)]
Space is limited, and participants (ages 4-12) must be present to register.

Here are some of my comments from a previous discussion:

When you arrive at a turnstile, obviously you want to be as close to the front as possible. So, lets say you are there really early, like 8:05 and you can choose either side of a "turnstile" don't put more than two people on one side. If you have three people in your group, put two on one side and one on the other..That way, then the park does "open", you're all scanning at the same time.

Once you do that make your way all the way down to the hat and then take a left where you will be stopped. Try and line up as much to the left as possible. People will come in after you and line up to the right and some even in front of you, but when they remove the ropes the left side has usually been the first to go through (I think they know this is where the people who got there first line up).

I was the in the third group on the left hand side and within 5 minutes they probably had another 15 families to my right, but I was the third person to register and we easily got into the 9:20 show.

I see that you've got the group splitting up - don't know if you realize, but the child(ren) has to be present to sign up. Have seen lots of folks think they can send the kid off to do a ride and have the parent sign up for them, but they won't allow sign-ups unless the child is present.

They recently changed the show times and those are no longer correct. I believe it's 12:35 1:05 1:50 2:40 3:25, all the rest are still the same

Thanks! They must have adjusted after they added back in the 11:00 session.

I did this a couple of times last July and found that getting to HS about 20 minutes before the open time was plenty early. Just get in and go up to the rope before they open. If you have a stroller, ditch it before you get to the sound studio so that you can get in line quickly.

Both times we just barely made the rope drop. One time the 9:20 show was available, the other time, the second show was the first available.

There's no longer a rope drop, so, whoever enters quickly at the tapstiles and heads directly to sign-ups will get their choice of sessions.

So if I have the Galatic Breakfast on May 4 at 8:00 a.m. would I still have time to eat and get in line for Jedi Training? Will there still be spots if I get there after everyone?

I echo what everyone else says. We got to the entrance about 40 minutes before opening, and were second in line behind a family of five. We were as far left at the entrance as we could go. I took my son through first, my husband and our stroller came in after us and we arranged to meet them at the sound stage so my son and I could go straight there quickly.

We took the first left towards H andV and walked around the lake. we were the third family at sign ups and got the show we wanted.

DHS opens at 9:00 that morning as it isn't yet SWW.

At 8:45, send the Jedi hopeful and an adult to the sign-up area if you haven't finished your breakfast and haven't met all the characters. After signing up for JTA, have the child and adult return to SciFi.

Because it is the very first morning of the Galactic Breakfast and because you have the first ADR time of the morning, hopefully everything will be running on time.

If we go in the am and want the last show of the day are we able to request that? Our plan is to send one parent and the kids then we all return around 3pm to spend the evening there.

Yes. Take your ADR and FP schedule with you so you can easily choose a session in case the last session is full although it's not likely to be full.
