I wonder if this trend will continue? Can anyone please update this over the next few days to let us all know if this is the new norm?
So who will be appearing for young Jedi's to battle once the refurb is done if it is not Darth Vader? And will Disney make an official announcement in the next few weeks stating the attraction will be closed or will it just be closed one day and that is it?
That post was also made in this thread.A DISer on another thread who is going to Disney with Make a Wish posted today that her Wish coordinator has confirmation from Disney that JTA will be closing October 4th and won't reopen until December 1st. There will be no Vader M&Gs or other offering as an alternative during that time.

I am so sad about this. Yes, I know we're lucky to go to Disney and yes, we will still have a great time and our trip isn't ruined, I KNOW that. But we booked this trip for this year because we weren't sure if our son would be too old to care about JTA next year. He ADORES Darth Vader and has been begging to go fight him for two years. In fact, fighting Darth was the second half of the "we're going to Disney World" announcement - not a second sentence, the second half of the actual announcement! I can't believe they're not going to at least give these kids a meet and greet during the down time. One stupid meet and greet would make a world of difference.
. Of course I grew up on the original SW. Also, has the "closing" been officially announced? Just planned FP+ and DHS assuming we would do JTA.....TIA!It's been confirmed. Make-A-Wish was notified that JTA's last day is October 4th... this was after the JTA cast was informed of the same date.Waa!! We've done both DV and DM and there is something iconic about DV up there!!! Not sure I will feel it is JTA if he is gone. Of course I grew up on the original SW. .For many of us with healthy kids this is a one shot deal as well. We aren't able to get back to Disney before our kids age out.At least we have some "official" confirmation. And thank goodness Disney is being transparent with Make-a-Wish about this. The rest of us with healthy children can live with the disappointment, but for many Wish kids, this would truly be a one-shot deal.
Rumors are swirling that the new version won't be limited by age. Hopefully so. My kids were bummed, especially DD who will be 13 after our trip, but she's already over it. There are so many experiences to be had. Maybe you can do the build a light saber at DHS and take some cool pics??For many of us with healthy kids this is a one shot deal as well. If you can't see the difference between a healthy child aging out before your next trip and a child on a Wish trip not getting to participate...well, I feel a little sorry for you, actually.
