Well, thanks to all for the good wishes. I am excited that I finally booked the resorts. I decided to go through SueEllen at DU for that part of the trip and after seeing the "code craziness" on the resort board this past week, I'm glad I did. I work over 40 hours a week, and have to leave the house at 5:15am and I can only have computer access during my half hour lunch. So there is no way I could be on hold for any length of time to talk to someone at CRO! So here's what I did:
We're going on our April school break which is gonna kill us in airfare, but my DD's a freshman this year and I can't take her out, she would fall too far behind with the block scheduling at the high school. I'm planning on being one of the first to call when Southwest opens up their April bookings...
We've never been to Universal, so we want to check it out this time. My DH wanted to stay at HRH because some of his co-workers have been there and loved it. Also, when I checked out availiability on Universal's website, the RPH was showing no availiability for those dates!

So we've booked the first three days at HRH in a basic garden view room. I've already put the deposit down for that room, no discounts yet, but SueEllen said she'd apply them when available. I have
AAA and a FANclub card and will get the Entertainment book if they offer discounts for that period. Like Disney, I think the discounts will be fewer since travel is up, and these places don't have to bend over backwards to draw people in.
The next 4 days of out trip we booked at the CR in the North Garden Wing. I absolutely loved the GF last year and want to stay on the monorail so DD and I can hit the MK after dinner. But I wasn't gonna spend that kind of cash for the GF...not with college tuition looming in the future! So I opted for the cheapest room I could get on the monorail. I'm there basically for the rides anyway...so the resort is not a big deal.
I debated not even going this year, but hopefully by booking things a la carte instead of a package, we can save some $
So Dreams will take care of resort ressies and any discounts, as well as park passes (after I'm sure we've got plane tickets) and PS's. DD and I are discussing where we want to eat...I want to do the Fantasmic Dinner Package, since we haven't seen it yet and DD wants to eat at the Crystal Palace, since her favorite, Eeyore, is there.
My job is to book airfare, as I've discussed above. I'm pinning my hopes on SWA...I used them on our college jaunt out to Chicago, and they do a great job. Very efficient, friendly, great sense of humor, which helps in these times when flying...Also I will do the rental car..have checked out codes on Mousesavers but none will apply until date gets closer. I can always change ressies there, anyways, no big deal.
Gee, I've learned alot on the DIS! I wouldn't have had a clue how to go about planning a Disney trip if it wasn't for these boards. After I get my deposit down on my CR ressie I am going to have to give some serious consideration to becoming a DIS sponsor...
Am I boring you guys? I hope not...I'm going to do my exercise in about 30 minutes, after my late dinner digests some more. I want to add a few more minutes to my pathetic August total. At least I'm signed up for September...I want a new clippie badly!
Best to all,
Jean
