We are sorry that we cannot post a full trip report but we have been so busy since we have come back and just can't find the time to do a proper one. Here is out best abbreviated shot.
Dec 3-10
Stayed at Port Orleans
Jay 26 and personal trainer at Gold's Gym
Jennifer 26 and FDA consultant
Lowlights first,
1 Crowds, more crowded than we expected. We consider ourselves Disney World veterans of many trips and we felt there were alot of people. Maybe it was the end of the millenium or just that the word is out about early Dec.
2 We requested a non smoking room due to the fact that Jennifer has asthma and we got one, however about the third day cigarette smoke started to creep into our room from the one next to us. We complained to the front desk, and we were told we would have to move. I was a little upset by this because I thought we were the ones being punished. We were told that even though it is a non smoking room, the people in that room paid for their room and if they wanted to smoke there was nothing that could be done about it. So we moved and problem solved.
3 The service at some restaurants was lacking in our opinion. The worst was Le Cellier, we have always heard great things about this restaurant. We were seated for about ten or fifteen minutes before our waitress even showed up and then she did not offer us any bread. Jennifer's sandwich was soggy and overall we had a bad experience here. Also Cape May Cafe, normally outstanding, was a nightmare. The buffet line was out of control, there were alot of other people upset in those lines, we did not even eat at the same time becuase of the lines.
Highlights
1 The resorts are beautiful, especially the Wilderness Lodge and Grand Floridian. We visited every resort on property and enjoyed them all.
2 The MVMCP was alot of fun. The snow falling on Main St really impressed us southerners. Even though one of our two MVMCP nights was sold out we managed to pretty much walk on everything.
3 The castmembers! We talked to more castmembers this time than any other and each one was willing to spend an eternity talking to us about anything, and we found them to be very smart.
4 Food, Garden Grill was great as usual. Konas has the best dessert in all the world. Cinderella's Castle was worth that 7 am phone call again. San Angel Inn is still in our opinion the most romantic spot at WDW.
5 Finally becoming annual pass holders. This was our fourth trip to WDW this year and it was becoming rediculous that we did not buy these yet.
Up next DVC!
There is alot more we could report on but we are seriously just too busy this time of year. We have been home two weeks and this is the first chance we have had to even turn on the computer, however if anyone has any questions for us we would be more than happy to answer all of them for you,(as soon as we can)
Thank you all,
Jay and Jenn
ps Merry Christmas!
