Couple Of Months Ago Me & Adam (Boyfriend) Was Looking At The Rides Just To See What I Liked & Would Go On & We Happened To Go Onto A Website Of Disney And It Said That Jaws Was Being Removed From The Park. Does Anybody Know What Is Replacing Jaws..? Is Harry Potter Being Extended To Make It Better As It's Succesful In Florida..?

Jaws was a part of Universal which is not a Disney park. You might want to look for your answer on the Universal Studios section of the Disboards.

Jaws is part of Universal so perhaps their website, blog, or section of DIS would better help you.

The PP's are correct. But to answer your question:

Nothing has been announced yet. However, the rumor is that they are building another Harry Potter area. Possibly Diagon Alley, with Hogwarts express running "backstage" to the Hogsmeade section over at the other park.

And just to provide a bit more info, since you're new to FL... :)

Walt Disney World has 4 separate theme parks on their property: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom.

Universal Orlando is about 40 minutes away, different owners, no connection to WDW at all, and has two theme parks: Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. This is where you'll find The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and where Jaws used to be.

There are many more attractions and theme parks in the Central Florida region. There's so much to do, and so much to know, that a guidebook can be really helpful to newcomers, just to get an overview of what's there.

Enjoy your trip planning! :thumbsup2

Universal Orlando is about 40 minutes away

That's the 2nd time this week I've seen someone say that. It's never taken me more than about 20 minutes. Is it just because I'm going in the off season?

Twenty minutes no traffic. Forty or more the rest of the time. ;)

When I stayed at Fort Wilderness it took 40 minutes TOTAL from walking out the front door of our cabin to entering the Port of Entry! We went early though (for the first time in my life) to get into Hogwarts ASAP.

I would say Bush Gardens is 40 minutes away from Disney, but not Universal!

Google Maps shows the Wilderness Lodge -> US trip as being 34 minutes in current traffic. That's using I4, I usually take Apopka-Vineland to Sand Lake Road and cut thru Doctor Phillips.

I'm sure it varies for everyone, depending on traffic and where you're starting out on Disney property. At any rate, OP, it ain't close by. :)

Busch Gardens is about 70 miles from WDW. 40 minutes...that would be some really speedy driving. :thumbsup2

Ok, I grant that I am a local Floridian now, but I live in New Port Richey, it is roughly 95 miles for me to get to Orlando, and I routinely make it from MY HOUSE to Universal in 1-1/2 hours, maybe 1 hr 45 minutes. I have never had it take more than 20 minutes to get from Disney area (192) to Universal or the other way around. My sister, who WORKS for Universal and lives off 192 gets there every day in less than 20 minutes, but I do admit that we tend to drive FAST, usually between 75 and 80...

I am one of the few who really like Jaws and am sorry to see it go. :sad1:

It never takes me 40 minutes of driving, either. I allow 45 minutes from a WDW room to walking through the turnstile. And I frequently need less.

just make sure you get on the right monorail to get over to the studios. The king kong ride is cool too.

That's disturbing that it can take that long; it never has for us. Actually, even if it did take that much time I'd never pay attention to it. To me, it's about 10 exits up I-4 and that's all I'm paying attention to. :)

It takes 15-20 minutes TOPS if you take Palm Parkway/Turkey Lake Road from the Downtown Disney area. I've been to Disney/Universal over 20 times over the past 15 years during all times of the year and it never ever took over 20 minutes to be at the gates of Universal.

imho: original post was a set-up......

No it wasn't. They posted on the Universal board as well. They probably posted there after being directed that way by the first couple of replies.

But yeah....Potter is blowing the Mouse out of the water. ;)
