Jaws closing for good at Jan 2nd.

I've never been to US, so I can't say I'm upset that it's closing. I am, however, very excited about the Despicable Me attraction that's coming!

NNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

I love Jaws........ it is the best ride at Universal.....

I was plannig to go next year to ride it...... Why did they announce this so late?

Disney aren't the only ones who know how to upset Faithful customers. this is wrong on so many levels... I saw Jaws as a child in the movie theater and I still find myself watching it when flipping channels... no matter where it is in the movie.

Jaws is my 2nd favorite movie of all time, but this ride was lame.

Its better then that crappy Disaster ride though. It shouldn't even be called a ride, all it is is 10 minutes of bad acting with a 1 minute ride that hardly moves.

Screamscape has an interesting rumor on the replacement:

http://www.screamscape.com/html/universal_studios_florida.htm

Essentially they say it may be the other half of Harry Potter. Of course Jaws is in Universal Studios and Harry Potter is in Islands of Adventure and if you look at Google Maps you will see that Jaws is not near the Wizarding World.

The rumor says that Jaws will become the London part of Harry Potter - and there is a possibility that there may be a Hogwarts Express ride that connects the two.

I agree, it shouldn't be replaced.....I feel like, because that was my first ride that I ever went on, is taking away a piece of my childhood. I just wish they would stay open long enough for me to get down there for the college program in June!

that would be...odd...especially since it's two parks, wouldn't you need two tickets to go to WWoHP

Inside the Magic is at the press event today announcing Universal Hollywood's Harry Potter section -- Universal confirms that WWoHP in Orlando will be "greatly expanded." No details to be announced today.

Even though I didn't beleive it 100% it looks like that rumor I posted wasn't so crazy after all!

I'm really gutted about this, the park has almost no rides that were there at the begining. Plus Harry Potter is at Islands Of Adventure and should stay there, must be a commercial decision as usual.

I can see this happening:

-They expand HP in the Jaws location, and build a Hogwarts Express in between new and old.

- When visitors enter one of the parks to see the Harry Potter stuff, and then board the train to see the rest - they find out that they can only get on the train with a ticket upgrade to a "two-park" pass.

Basically by spreading HP across two parks they force people to buy a more expensive ticket if they want to see it all in one day. Scumbag move, but marketing genius!

Yeah... kids will want to ride the train and go to the other section... I'm sure they will sell the upgrades at the train station to entice people.
I personally will stick with Disney Parks... I refer to Universal and other theme parks as "Disney wannabees"!

I don't think so. Not while Hogwarts is so close to the Lost Continent. The Lost Continent is so useless that I can see HP replacing it. I think that Jaws will be replaced by something entirely different.
