The welcome boxes you are putting together are great!! Your guests are so lucky!! :thumbsup2

I LOVE your welcome gifts. They are so creative. I have the small mickey punch, but where did you find the larger one??? Did I read that right? Each person gets a welcome gift?? WOW! that is a lot of gifts. Have you figured out how to disperse them? Or is everyone staying at the same hotel?

The welcome boxes are great......lots of goodies!!!

They mickey ear stickers are so cute....you need to have an assembly party one night to put em all together...maybe order a pizza & have a few drinks;)

love the stuff! :thumbsup2 I can't believe you fit all that in your car, though! LOL!

Have a safe trip!

p.s. how long is that drive?

Thank you for all the compliments on the gift boxes! DF is certainly happy to have the "sticker project" over with. We just finished sticking them on all the boxes this weekend. I guess in total, we had over 400 stickers!!

sounds like a wonderful trip back to the Jersey shore ( where everything is alright) :goodvibes ....as long as you've got great music and Harley doesn't get car sick - wishing you a safe road trip back home!

Harley is actually an angel in the car :cloud9: We've done this trip a few times. He just falls asleep and never fusses the whole time. Doesn't even need many bathroom stops. I just give him water and a little walk whenever I stop for gas or food for myself, and he's fine. Such a good boy!

The larger punch would have come from either Michael's or Hobby Lobby. I can't remember, but those are the stores I've been shopping at lately. If you don't have it in any craft shops nearby, I bet you can get it online. Maybe Amazon.com? I find a lot of random stuff there.

And yep, one gift per person. I've got about 100 of each item. I'm hoping that'll be enough. If not, I'll just figure something out in August...

Thanks! Putting most of it into garbage bags really helped. I was able to smoosh it into corners. I still have to pack up some clothes and Harley's stuff. It's definitely a tight fit! The drive is around 25-27 hours. I'll probably stop 2 nights. I've done it with just 1 overnight stop before, but that makes it a lot more tiring. We'll see...

I'm finally back!! Sorry about the delay... I know I have a lot of catching up to do on this PJ!! We leave for Disney just 6 weeks from Thursday. So on with the PJ:

So our colors are royal blue and a lighter blue. And then for contrast, some ivory and a few silver accents. I found a picture of the bouquet I want on the cover of a British bridal magazine. It's just a very simple bouquet of blue delphinium. Sorry it's not the best quality image:

Lisa-flowers.jpg

I'm using Disney Floral for all the flowers and decor. They describe my bouquet as, "French hand tied bouquet designed with light blue and dark blue delphinium (see bride's picture). Wrap the stems 75% with 350 Royal Blue satin ribbon."

My flower girl will be carrying, "Light and dark blue delphinium petals in ivory Mickey basket." Sorry I don't have a picture! It's one of the ones on display in Franck's studio.

DF and our fathers will have white dendrobium orchids with ivy, lily grass and 350 Royal Blue satin ribbon stem wrap boutonnieres, something similar to this:
bouts013_small1.jpg

Our mothers will have Light and dark blue delphinium with filler, greens and sheer ivory ribbon wrist corsages.

Our U.K. Pavilion ceremony location will be decorated with floral clusters of light and dark blue delphinium with greenery tied with white satin ribbon bows. 4 Large, 4 smaller tied to the front two corners of the railings and one on each "exit door" of the black gating. Here's a picture of the location without the delphinium:

And here's a picture I found of delphinium:

That's about it for the ceremony decor. I'll describe the reception decor in my next posting...

everything looks great, youa re getting married on the day we want next year!!

YAY! Someone else who hails from the east coast, but is currently living in Austin, TX! You're so lucky that your parents will be driving down so they can take all of your stuff. We plan on leaving from Disney straight to our honeymoon, so driving ourselves is a no go. And unfortunately my parents are flying, but maybe DF's will drive?

I love everything, especially the fact that you're doing a lot of it yourself. I think it makes it more personable and "you" at the time of the wedding. Congrats on the upcoming wedding!

i think the flowers are very cool.....if you told me, i wouldnt picture it...but seeing it I really like it!!

Cant wait to read more!!

Flowers and decor continued...

The place card table will have scattered light and dark blue delphinium blooms. The place cards themselves will be chocolate bars, like this:
Chocolate-cindy-prince.jpg
ChocolatePlacecards.jpg

I think I'm going to go with the white chocolate ones, with the silver mesh bow. But without any design. Just the name and table number. Even though place cards typically have full, formal names like, "Miss Constance Worthington-Kirsch", I think I'm going to just go with first names like, "Connie" or "Jim B." First names on chocolate bars makes more sense, I think. But that means that families won't be grouped together (since it'll be alpha by first name instead of alpha by last name.) So I'm still not sure...

For the tables, I'm using a modification of the "Whimsical" style from the Wishbook. Here's a picture from the Disney Wishbook:

When I went to my planning session, I said I wanted a "blue" version of this. Here's what I'm getting:

centerpieces in three different sizes (22" cylinders, 10.5" cylinders, and 9" cylinders). Each cylinder vase will have blue water. The flowers will be light blue hydrangea, light blue delphinium, white roses, and white gerbera daisies in the French floral ball style. Since tables in the Living Seas are smaller (6 people per table), we'll only have one centerpiece per table.

The tables will each have 6 shotglass votives. Linens are baby blue satin floor length linens and ice blue organza overlays that will be swagged at 4 points sort of like this:

(Since the tables are round, the swags at the corners are somewhat artificial.)

At each setting, we'll have ice blue satin napkins ghost folded and tied with 350 Royal Blue satin ribbons in a bow, just like in the pictures above. We're also splurging on the silver beaded frosted glass chargers. Here's another picture that shows the chargers, satin napkins, and swagging, but again in pink instead of blue:

The only aspect of the "Whimsical" design I'm not using is the chairs. I just don't think they'd fit in with the Living Seas decor. Instead, we'll just use the standard wood chairs they have there. The seats are blue, so they should match well enough, I think:

We're also doing a couple of kids tables. They will have butcher paper, crayons, and some Disney activity/coloring books. Instead of candles, they'll each have three battery operated votives. To keep things simpler for the kids, they won't have the chargers either. And instead of flowers, they will have lollipop centerpieces: 6 large lollipops and 3 straight swirl lollipops decorated with curly ribbon of various colors and arranged in foam covered with multi colored mylar paper in a galvanized bucket:

The cake table will have the same linens as the tables and scattered sea blue glass stones.

And, of course, since we're in the Living Seas, the aquarium itself will provide a lot of the "decor"

I love your colors and welcome boxes, but more importantly: I LOVE your dog!!! :rotfl: King Charles Spaniels are just the cutest!!

I can't wait to see your dress!

everything looks great, youa re getting married on the day we want next year!!

Very cool. I'm hoping it won't be too unbearably hot! And, I'm hoping that we don't get hit by any early hurricanes, mostly because then some guests might not be able to make it...

Thanks! How long have you been in Austin? I love it here, but I do miss the beach! I hope your DF's parents will decide to drive!! That really makes things much easier. We might have them drive DF's suit down there, too, so we don't have to worry about packing it. I'm going "home" to NJ again in a few weeks so as long as his alterations are finished, I'll be able to take it with me.

Thank you! I had no idea what delphiniums were before planning my wedding either. I just knew I wanted blue and didn't really want hydrangea for my bouquet. I was so happy when I spotted that magazine cover. (I actually ended up buying the magazine twice since I lost the cover the first time I tore it off the magazine, months before my Disney planning session.) I'm just hoping that Disney has some really blue flowers that day. I was "warned" that they would do their best to give me true blue flowers, but both hydrangea and delphinium often have a more violet shade...

gotta know where you found the place cards! I love them!!! And the delphiniums are so pretty, I do hope they will be the blue you want...

Thanks! I've always been a "big dog" kind of girl. (My parents have Newfoundlands.) But the KCSs really have great personalities for small dogs. More rough-and-tumble than prissy.

Those place cards are so cool!

Thank you! I figure that they do double-duty as favors, too. Especially since guests are already getting the welcome gifts and another souvenir (that relates to the reception entertainment...)

Thanks! They're from Disney. So I'm sure they could probably be found elsewhere for less. I'm paying $6 each, but this way I don't have to worry about transporting chocolate in the heat. They should be nice and fresh. I spotted them when I was at Franck's for my planning session.

The lollipop centerpieces for the kids table is precious. What a novel idea! And to cover the table with butcher paper so they can color is priceless. My bridesmaids (almost 20 years ago) wore Royal Blue and I thought they looked gorgeous. Adding the silver accents sounds beautiful as well.

Lisa,

Everything looks great so far! I love your welcome gifts and invites! I really love the whimsical table setting also and I didn't know if you could use it at the Living Seas. Thanks to your PJ, now I know you can. My colors are purple and lavender with silver accents so I'm afraid it might "clash" a little the blue in the Living Seas so I'm not sure if I'm going to have my reception there. Great idea with the kids table and the lollipop center piece, very creative.

About the the chocolate place cards..does the $6 include a design and the name or is adding those things extra?

Can't wait to hear more!!

Thank you! I can't really take credit for the idea, though. I can't remember where exactly I first saw a lollipop centerpiece. I think the pic in my PJ is from a Disneyland wedding. The butcher paper was actually an idea from my Disney wedding planner/floral designer team. I guess it's something they've done before. I'm hoping my wedding is fun for the children. I think we're going to have around a dozen altogether.

Thank you! As far as I know, any of the table styles can be selected in any of the locations, as long as you're willing to pay... The white tablecloths or green/blue standard combinations are included in the location fee. We're paying an average of $324.50 per table of 6. That includes the special linens, swagging, floral centerpiece, napkins, and chargers. (And then there's the 6.5% sales tax on top of that.)

As for the place cards, the $6 includes the name and table number. I don't know whether the design would be extra, since I didn't ask for that. I was initially told that the place cards Disney offers range in price from $2.45 to $7 each. So maybe $7 would be the price for a chocolate place card with the design?

I think shades of purple would likely go pretty well in the Living Seas. The blue seats are a little towards a purple shade. (My floral designer was actually worried that I might think they were too purpley to go with my light blue decor.) Also, there are decorative pillows in the general area, some of which are purple, so that would work for you. Definitely request to go on a site visit during your planning session if you're thinking about the LS. I thought it looked very different and so much better in person than it does in photos!

The tables are going to look beautiful! I love the style!
I also love the table chocolates - great idea and so yummy!!!
